Featured Replies

Unless you are promoting Thailand in good light Ie saying how great it is and welcoming tourists

You are not going to be welcomed with open arms promoting the seedy side of things to much 🤑money at stake

  • permission or not to film in Thailand, you still require the permission of individual venues and customers to film, not every bar/club will allow you to film

  • I could swear I just saw this McDermott in a 3some sex vdo with a Thai sex worker and a foreigner man. Same face and body. Hmm..

What a pretentious, snobby, drama-queen, click-bait, sheltered, judgmental, condescending, self-absorbed, narcissistic, pompous, vain, haughty, superficial, overdramatic, sensationalist, melodramatic, sanctimonious, holier-than-thou, self-important, prima donna, and attention-starved young lady shouldn't have given her permission in the first place what did she expect?

I am trying, trying, trying, trying to add to this...

Gotta love RTP.

Never miss a photo opportunity.

I thought everyone knew there is no Sex Industry in Thailand anyway !!

Managed the first 15 minutes, then........pooof, OFF.

She's pretty fit though. I would, wouldn't you?

I got 4 minutes in the episode one and then binned it.

Soon as I saw Love Island

Scrolled on.

The money bbc spend on this sort of stuff is off the scale.
a lot of girls in BKK pattaya are not exploited !   They want to be there most of them are feeding there families from been there.
they are exploiting the foreign guys.   😁

Love Island,  TVStar ??? lol.

A documentary about rising knife crimes in the UK would be better.

Best comment yet! Along with what @JoePai said above.

I watched Episode 1 of this nonsense and just kept fast forwarding past her faux "shocked" moments.

Episode 2, in Pattaya was just as bad and featured an interview with a "YouTuber" who cleverly avoided answering too many of her leading questions, whilst promoting his videos.

And this silly bitch didn't even appear to notice!

Episode 3...I didn't bother!

This woman is amongst many who are simply "famous for being famous" without actually having produced anything of note!

Don't let the door hit you on the arse as you leave......

You could have made your documentary in London, or any other capital city in the world. Or maybe report on the growing number of middle-aged Lesbians traveling to Thailand for relationships with bar girls and ladyboys ?  Surely a more interesting angle, or doesn't that fit with the BBC left-wing  narrative ?

As a matter of fact, the vast majority of them, like 99%, do not allow it all. GO GO BARS usually have a sign at the entrance explicitly prohibiting filming.

Exactly. The bars do not allow pictures or videos.

Correct. Sad to say coming from the UK it’s full of dumb talentless a***e holes like her. Another reason why i left for Thailand.

Watched all 3 parts it's entertainment for the young not us worn out, personally I found out what an influence'r is and how to talk about prawns 🤔

You're right - except that it's presented as fact, therefore it becomes MIS-information...for anyone daft enough to believe it.

Oh and as for the "us"......, sometimes I'm glad I'm old....definitely not worn out though, mate 😎

Does anyone who appears on TV get labelled as a star nowadays?

Stacey Dooley will be shocked. 😊

Yet another nobody who is now a star, I'm afraid I've never heard of her.

Actually it’s very cheap to produce, just a low level presenter wanting to raise her profile and a small camera crew. Compare that to the production costs of a drama or an expensively filmed wildlife documentary. Cost per viewer will be tiny by comparison

Never heard of this  Zara - who is she?

Why don’t they show the other side of life in Thailand, the Thai ladies who meet foreigners and get married build a future together? This storyline has been told so many times, it’s boring

The situation intensified as bar owners sought to have the crew ejected, resulting in them abandoning their plans.

Then they didn't have the permissions, as they claimed. You cannot film in someone's establishment without their permission.

One thing the series did get right was the amount of murdered tourist in Phuket, and the fact that hardly any have been solved.

Which are the "unsolved murders of tourists in Phuket" that you refer to that add up to an "amount", suggesting many?

Many are pressured to work in an unpredictable and unsafe industry

Yeah, mostly by their own family, who often sell them to massage parlors and go-go bars, just to be able to buy a new tractor. And let's be honest, Thai sex industry is totally different from what you see in the West. It's not the usual Pimp-Whore-Punter relationship.

She should stay at home, and expose the young girl trafficking for the sex industry in Europe, done by the Mafia gangs, but that would be very dangerous for her. Much more so than filming in Thailand

I wonder if she got her lips topped-up in Thailand?

[EDIT: ooooh you bitch ]

If they would have done absolutely nothing (i.e. as usual) then hardly anyone outside the UK would have learnt of this programme; now you can take it for granted that half the world will access the clip/programme which will be uploaded on servers OUTside Thailand.

Very much so...   This is called the 'Streisand effect' after Barbra Streisand, whose 2003 legal action to suppress photographs of her Malibu home backfired, resulting in the image being viewed by a significantly larger audience than if no attempt had been made to remove it.  - Thailand is extremely adept at doing this and achieving the opposite results it intended....

I can help you out re episode 3. It was filmed mainly on Ko Pha Ngan (and also on Phuket) and contained the shattering revelations that if 10,000 (mainly young) people have a party, then some will have sex, some will take drugs, some will drink too much alcohol and there will be some opportunistic thieves amongst the 10,000.

I believe that similar things happen in Cyprus, Greece, Spain, etc.

I don't know love island, but it sounds like a show where contestants sleep with each other to gain fame. That makes Zara suitable to investigate prostitution in Thailand I guess.

I started to watch it but only managed 5 minutes before changing the programme.

Usual bull<deleted> about how much money “influencers” are making, living in luxury apartments in BKK

A documentary about rural Thailand that tourists rarely see would attract a much bigger audience I think
