Two Thai women were injured in an early morning road crash in Pattaya when their motorcycle collided with pedestrians. The incident occurred at 03.00 on 12 September, in front of a hotel near the intersection of Pattaya Second Road and Pratamnak Road, South Pattaya, Chonburi. Emergency responders from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit were quickly dispatched following the report.

At the scene, authorities identified the injured as Ms Benyaporn, who was driving a red and black Honda CBR 150 and her passenger, Ms Saranya, aged 36. Ms Saranya sustained serious injuries, while Ms Benyaporn was also hurt in the crash. Rescue personnel provided first aid before transferring both victims urgently to hospital for further treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcycle rider had been sounding the horn repeatedly to alert two Indian tourists walking arm-in-arm across the road. Despite the warning, the tourists continued crossing without moving aside, causing the motorcycle to collide with them. After the crash, the tourists reportedly entered the nearby hotel without assisting the injured women, leaving the scene immediately.

Police documented the scene by taking photographs and confirmed plans to review CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Investigators aim to establish the precise sequence of events and determine responsibility for the collision. Authorities stated that the evidence will be used to pursue legal action as appropriate.

If the bike rider had time to (repeatedly) sound the horn, why not brake/steer away ?

When you sound a horn, it should alert anyone hearing it, especially if they're crossing any street, especially  in Thailand. If they changed their course of travel, they might have hit others or a car going the other way. What should be done is not to trust anyone here, go slower on streets where people are crossing, and use that horn but don't expect others to pay attention.

Need to get those young Thai guys, patrolling the streets of Pattaya, smacking the back of the heads of these stupid Indians, walking on our roads, disrupting traffic.

The thing is clear cut. The women on the motorbike had ample time, and clearly just drove into the people already halfway over the street. Probably drunk as well.

You new round here? Indians are a menace in Pattaya walking in the road, a matter of time until one gets killed. I hope they are prosecuted

Inclined to say idiot Indians jaywalking was more to blame. Thai women aren't great at maneuvering motorcycles, 2 up using their phones, and handbags on their laps.

Today on Beach Road, I nearly ran over a couple of Indians who walked straight out to cross the street without even looking. Then they wave there arms around as if the driver is in the wrong (no it was not on a crossing) Seen this happen so many times, it is more down to drivers ability to swerve or stop that prevents many more casualties.

Apparently it is quite normal to do this in India. Soi dogs have more road sense.
