A fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Thai Army Headquarters early on 18 September 2025, near the military secretary’s office. Initial reports indicate that an electrical short circuit triggered the blaze, which spread to adjacent areas before being contained. No injuries or significant structural damage have been reported.

 

The incident occurred at around 06:00, originating from an electrical control cabinet in Room 50 of the building. On-duty guards and military police attempted to extinguish the fire using handheld extinguishers but could not reach the seat of the fire. Firefighting units, including support from the Royal Thai Army fire vehicles, were called in to control and suppress the flames.

 

Colonel Witthai Laitomya, spokesperson for the Thai Army Headquarters, confirmed that preliminary investigations point to an electrical short circuit as the cause. Authorities also reported that the blaze did not result in serious injuries or severe structural damage to the building.
