A Pakistani man has been arrested in Udon Thani following allegations of sexual misconduct involving an 18-year-old local resident, identified as “Miss A,” who has autism. The incident reportedly occurred at a dormitory on Nittiyo Road, where the victim resides. Police apprehended Ahmed, a 32-year-old Pakistani national, after Miss A claimed he entered her room uninvited and attempted inappropriate physical contact.

 

The arrest followed reports of concerning behavior by Ahmed, who had been seen frequently watching Miss A. Despite previous warnings from her mother to record any suspicious activity, tensions escalated on September 20th when Ahmed allegedly forced his way into Miss A’s room. Dormitory caretaker, Miss Bow, corroborated Miss A’s claims, noting Ahmed’s intimidating behaviors and his relatively recent tenancy at the dormitory.

 

Miss Bow confirmed that Ahmed’s behavior had been observed since his arrival, accompanied by a Thai woman whom he claimed to be dating. However, upon police inquiry, this woman stated they were merely friends and distanced herself from the situation by denying possession of Ahmed’s passport, which he used as proof of identity.

 

Udon Thani Immigration Police revealed discrepancies in Ahmed's legal status, indicating illegal entry. Ahmed initially entered Thailand as a tourist over two years ago, but lacked any legal re-entry records after a brief trip to Malaysia. Consequently, he faces charges related to illegal stay, and investigations into the alleged sexual misconduct are ongoing.

 

Authorities continue their investigation into the sexual misconduct allegations while proceeding with charges against Ahmed for illegal entry and residence. He has been transferred to the city police station for further legal action. The case highlights ongoing challenges in monitoring and managing the legal status of foreign nationals in Thailand.

I have a Chinese Malaysian friend, he told me there are dozens of riders who know a back route across the border that's unguarded, loads of them go that way to avoid the hassle and queues at the border, so they can go partying with the Karakoke girls, then back home in the early hours

I don't want this to sound like an anti-muslim rant because I have a number of Muslim friends and I know a lot of very decent Muslim people. But I do remember being in India oh so long ago, and a local guy was going on and on about having just gotten with a American woman who was visiting the region. He asked me why are American women such whores, and my answer to him was why are you such a whore? He was absolutely astonished and said what are you talking about men can't be whores. I said of course they can be, you are one, as you will get with anyone who offers themselves to you. Where is the ethics and morality In that? He was  literally speechless. It was classic. Is world is rife with double standards, if you're going to apply a standard to a woman, it's only fair to apply it to yourself. 

India is populated mostly by Hindus but I guess they are all brown.

I'm from the NY area. I know it's a joke about the hat, but in its defense Like any big city it has its flaws, but the really bad places in the US, and there are plenty (such as the white house and its Epstein alumni) , are elsewhere. Many years ago, as a rock and roll musician and artist, Some of the best times of my life pre-Thailand were spent in NY. People like Deniro, Pesci, Martin Scorcese, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, The beat poets, so many, all are from or made their careers there. NY is a truly remarkable place, even after Covid deveasted it. To this day, though I choose Thailand over all else, NY, New Orleans, Boston, and others carry warm memories and the only reason I don't go there is financial.

I don't see it as an anti-Muslim rant, as you're only talking about 1 guy, but even with that, I don't understand the connection to your story. 

 

It appears you're trying to talk about double standards? However, I don't see any actions of double standards happening with the investigation of this guy.

Are you saying you believe the girl is a whore, and then the guy who tried to have sex with this girl would be considered a whore too? 

For me, I believe that to be sexual assault, if not rape, depending on exactly what happened as he was making unwanted advances. 

 

I reread the article and didn't see anything that suggested the girl worked in a bar or provided services as a "whore".

So how about Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tokyo or Seoul to name a few? Compare those to major cities in the US (or Europe) and what's a major difference?
