Russia is a paper tiger

You need to read up on the siloviki the five million strong security apparatus whose future depends entirely on regime survival. The smart money  Mark Galeotti among others suggests that any successor could be even worse. For them it’s simple: they hang together, or they hang separately.

These horror stories are just part of Putin’s propaganda. There will be nothing worse than Putin. Read my analogy with Stalin’s death: back then, the state apparatus was gigantic, stronger than ever before or after. And yet, only three years after the dictator’s death, Stalin's rule was already denounced as a “cult of personality,” and he himself was condemned by his successors. Putin’s authority among the Russian masses is nowhere near the level that Stalin once held. Let's remember that Stalin won the hardest war in the Russian history  and brought Russia to the peak of its military and political power (unlike Putin, who is unable to capture Odessa or Kharkiv for 4 years).

I keep repeating it but many here still not believing it, let's try again, the paper tiger is starting to burn and soon or very soon will be reduced to ashes, NATO is waiting for their next incursion into NATO allies, it's going to happen because Putin has been challenging / provocating the western countries

Russia’s war machine is breaking down

If Russia is a paper tiger ready to burn then why on earth would they

even dare challenge and provoke the mighty NATO countries ?

And when as "assured" ( a premonition)  above will happen  the Russians intrude "again"  NATO is ready and wiling to launch a full scale strike and destroy Russia ???   or will it send a strongly worded letter to the UN.

Just because you keep repeating it doesn't mean many here are believing it..

For what?  Stating the bigly obvious?

Put your missile batteries in the civilian areas, shoot up at drones or missiles passing overhead, un'sploded AD missiles and debris, if they manage to hit anything, falls down onto the civilians you're hiding amongst.

It's not rocket science..............or is it?

Russia waging a war of attrition against Ukraine for almost four years is already a colossal failure. If Putin has proven anything through this war, it is just how weak and insignificant modern Russia looks compared to the Soviet Union. Its claims to past greatness rest on nothing more than nuclear weapons - entirely inherited from the eras of Stalin and Khrushchev. Take away Putin’s Soviet-era nuclear warheads, and his regime would collapse within weeks. It is naive to assume that the Russian population - even its most patriotic segment - does not see the full impoverishment and weakness of today’s Russian military machine. The endless intensification of repression inside Russia is yet another sign of how vulnerable and insecure Putin regime feels.

That's the way it works.

AP runs a story sourced to "anonymous senior intelligence officials" or the "Ukranian Ministry of Silly Walks", and then all the other news aggregators reprint it.  Then the nazi cheerleaders like and share to amplify it through the echosphere.....and it becomes established fact.

You won't hear much else around here, Russian news sources are banned.  Can't even link to an official statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Fallout doesn’t have borders.

That would be suicide.

Mostly nuclear fallout is blown by the wind, so if the wind is from the west it will blow into Russia, unless the nuclear device is detonated in the east of the Ukraine. The heavier lumps will fall closer to the detonation area but the dust will be windblown and the lightest particles will travel the furthest.

There is a major problem with “Russian news sources.” In the country, nothing exists except official government propaganda. All other sources of information were eliminated immediately after the start of the invasion of Ukraine. People in modern Russia are literally imprisoned for years simply for spreading anything that differs from state propaganda.  Are you really suggesting that the world should enrich its understanding of the conflict through this 100% KGB-controlled garbage that you call "Russian news sources"?

P.S.  In March 2022, President Putin signed a law introducing prison sentences of up to 15 years for those who publish "knowingly false information" about the Russian military and its operations.

Of course some may not work anymore.

Fair point I was guesstimating the number of nuclear weapons Russia has in service and ready to use. About 4380 operational nuclear weapons and 1718 deployed.

So in any event plenty to ensure the US does not want to put boots on the ground.

Admittedly I don't think Putin thought he would have to carry on this long   after all there was an almost signed peace deal that was scuppered by Boris Johnson (cue fact checkers)

And then NATO /EU/US ramped up sending armaments, money and military intelligence so the Ukrainians could fight to the last Ukrainian for "democracy" and they (NATO /EU/US) didn't have to, remember ?

Also the fact that Putin has not gone full on "blitzkrieg"  speaks to the fact that many in his own "regime" have criticised  him for being too timid as I mention before.

I know this is true, 'cause I read it in the dailyglobalmailexpress, and they cited THREE anonymous sources!

It's truthy!

And of course Ukraine  has a fully open media  and Russian media is not  banned anywhere at all either...so all's good ?

This is signalling. No way Trump has intel to say this is possible. If he has then this intel is at the very least questionable. Even Zylenskyy has said it isn't possible to win militarily. It's more about sinalling Putin that there will be an increased cost to Russia and Putin will be better off with a negotiated settlement. Reality is Russian forces continue to creep west with several pockets being formed or have already formed along the front. What is also reality is Ukraine has a huge manpower problem.

I think you are referring to NATO then ?  when I say NATO I mean a NATO without  US  full participation   as they have provided  quite substantial monetary, arms and  intelligence  but not 100%  full on boots on the ground and planes in the air...yet

NATO with 100% US support would be a huge challenge for Russia I think..it would also be WWIII

(as pointed out by the sharp as a tack Joe Biden)..so hope it doesn't happen..do you ?

This WW3 claim is a canard to keep the west in a weak knee posture.  The West needs to punch Putin in the face and show they are serious.   They can start by enforce a new fly zone over Ukraine, and seize the Russian shadow fleet.

Ok so WWIII it is then,

I think we might be kinda safe here in Thailand  but probably only for a short while as 'civilisation' as we know it collapses.

The appeasement of Putin needs to end.  He needs a punch in the face.

BTW..I'm enjoying watching the slow collapse of the Russian economy and slow collapse of the Russian army.

Should we also punch some other nuclear armed countries that we don't like in the face..how about North Korea,China,Pakistan,India

and the one who denies having any nukes at all waging a 7 front war as we speak..what happens if we punch Putin in the face  and China and India says hey that's not on shall we punch them too..perhaps UK and France can join in the punching as they have some nukes..alakabam  there's your WWIII

The "blitzkrieg" was planned, tried and failed completly. Putin really thought that his special military op would be finished in 3 days.

“The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.” This phrase from President Volodymyr Zelensky is already history. He is already set at the same level to Winston Churchill.

Just live with the fact - Russia lost a long time ago.

Point is it's not simply that winds generally blow west to east.

Zelensky bombing Zaporizhia again or setting off a dirty bomb won't necessarily contaminate Russia.  It could come back and bite his sponsors in their Azovs.
