Finally solved the getting up to the toilet at night problem

Featured Replies

As a rule was getting up 3-4 times a night, not a big deal but a little irritating.

Tried Cialis for a couple weeks to see if it improved as apparently helps BPH, it didn't.

I now get up once a night by:

No tea or coffee 7 hours before sleeping

No fluids 5 hours before sleeping.

It was that simple, just drinking too much.

Not dehydrated as urine perfect colour in the morning

Obviously i have days off when i want to drink later

It's not recommended though.

Diabetes makes you pee at night. Did you check that?

Most men will get BPH in later years and there's not much you can do besides medication now besides limiting caffeine, especially a few hours before sleep. Drinking less won't work over time and could cause kidney and dehydration problems. Drinking more during the day and less the closer to bed can help, but you shouldn't reduce your total water intake.......https://www.gaurology.com/should-you-drink-less-if-you-have-bph/

How is that working out?

I find myself being very thirsty in the evenings and often feel dehydrated and need to drink.

I wouldnt be able to do that.

I haven't since I visited my daughters last November. Some nights it's once and others it's 5 times. We all have our crosses to bear I guess.

I wouldn't worry, I have no need to wee at night sleeping, but have to do around 20x during the day.

This is well known, but you must keep your fluids up during the day

What about a diaper? Not a dig but possibly a viable reason not to get up.

That would be too messy. Truncate and be done with it.

I love tea. I drink massive amounts of black tea and water every day. At least 4-5 liters.  My breakfast tea 'cup' is a Munich beer stein, and I have two of those with my meal. Another at lunch, and more with dinner. Bottles of water in between. A hot mug of tea in the evening.

No, the caffeine in tea doesn't keep me awake. (One cup of coffee will keep me up all night.)  Biggest problem is that it stains my teeth!

Yes... I pee a lot. Cleanest kidneys in town!  But only once or twice a night. I get a good night's sleep thanks to the supplements (saw palmetto, pumpkinseed oil, and half-tab Cialis every other day), but I do pee more frequently during the day. It's just not a problem for me.

obviously need to stay hydrated as i mentioned in the op, easy to do drinking earlier. Problem is people struggle to give up drink and food, they prefer drugs and ops

It's all in the mind, the next morning check your urine is the right colour. I'm 1-2 after the first pis*

You say well known but I don't recall one thread where anyone has suggested it, it's always drugs, cannabis or ops

Of course it is, people drink too much like they eat too much, for entertainment mainly

I guess you can get all your 2-3 Liters in before 5 PM.

Go for it if you're not thirsty at night.

At night ??????

Over active bladder is common amongst oldies ,u could need miragbegron 50mg once a day

women especially suffer over active bladder

my bladder has been inspected with a camera up the urethra ,not a pleasant experience ,but was looking for cancer which was clear.

miragbegron relaxes the muscles allegedly

Approximately 1 in 6 women in the UK suffer from overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms, with estimates suggesting up to 40% of women in the US experience OAB symptoms, or as many as 33 million adults. OAB is more common with age, but can affect women earlier, and is a condition causing a strong, frequent, and often sudden urge to urinate.

Risking kidney stones, and kidney failure. The more steady you exercise, the less you piss in the night.

Kegel movements is important

You could wear a bag at night so you don’t have to get up, the tube fits onto your member and doesn’t come off ,I had it when in hospital with a stroke .

you can pee without a care in the world
