I'd be in favor of them displaying a badge number big enough to read across the street.  Ironed onto their uniform.  Then, anyone can report bad behavior and the authorities can look up that number to see who it was.  Make the numbers big enough to show up on cell phone video.  But don't tie the number to personally identifying information that's available to crazies.

 

As far as forcing them to reveal their names to the whackjobs who are shooting up buildings and burning car dealerships, that should be a non-starter.

What is quite acceptable is that people who assault the Capitol, in an attempt to steal an election, are more likely to be thrown in prison, than people who protested against abusive killings of black people by police force.

 

As to people who looted, set fire, etc... those who were identified have been convicted. Whatever their political leaning as it also include the boogaloo boyz! 🤣
