I made my usual monthly "For Long Term Stay in Thailand" transfer yesterday. They say they haven't received the money yet, they will receive it on Saturday, and I will receive it Monday, the 6th. So I sent another $300 "For Personal Expenses." Normally those arrive in seconds. This time I was told I will receive it at 14:13 today. It's still not there at 15:55. In a chat Richie said BKK Bank has been having technical difficulties this week and they hope to have them fixed soon. I am skeptical, but have no choice but to wait. There is no other online company that I, living in Thailand, can sign up for. Making wire transfers from my bank requires me to telephone them every month, so Wise has been very convenient, but it this happens again next month I'll have to give that solution serious consideration.

Any reason Deemoney are not an option?  They're most often talked about regarding sending money out of Thailand but I'm sure they can bring it in too.

There's certainly still a problem sending from Wise to Bangkok Bank. Setup a transfer early morning on 30th September and it said would be there in 5 hours. Then got an update saying it would be there today, 1st October at 07:07 UTC. Then got another update today saying it would be there 07:07 UTC on 2nd October. Also got the B.S that "lots of people are using Wise at the moment so its taking longer Blah, Blah Blah..."

I just cancelled the transfer and sent is to Kasikornbank instead. Took just 7 seconds to arrive in Kbank. Clearly the issue is with Bangkok Bank (and possibly other banks). For now Kbank is the best option for reliable and fast transfers.

WISE can put a black mark against you for doing that.

The problem is with Bangkok bank, and IMO everyone should cease doing business with the bank before it's too late

This afternoon I tried to send 500 GBP from my Halifax UK account as usual. This time I was in a taxi whereas normally I am connected to WiFi at home. Wise got stuck trying to receive the money, just displayed a screen with 'waiting' message on it until I manually closed it.Halifax app wouldn't let me log in after that (does now) so maybe it was an issue with them.

At 1pm today I made a transfer from my Halifax acc to KBank through wise 43.68 baht/GB Pound and it was completed within 10 seconds 👍

My Immigration transfer, initiated yesterday and first said arrives today, now arrives tomorrow. 

Don't give a <deleted> as long as it arrives as an International Transfer.

With a one day delay transfer arrived at Bangkok Bank as

International Funds Transfer.

Interesting: WISE confirmation shows Bangkok Bank as partner bank. No detour via Kasikorn.

 

This morning I did a test transfer to my new Krungsri account.

Arrived in seconds as

Global payment hub.

Global pay... on the online account statement.

Partner Bank Kasikorn.

 

I did a transfer today. AUST dollar to Thai with Wise It equated to 54,000 Baht. I sent the money at 0640. Wise transferred at 0945. It arrived in my Bangkok Bank account at 1416. It was coded as Foreign Transfer on my online account.  I normally receive it at 1401. Glad it arrived today and maked correctly for my extention.

Apparently they are having problems, too. According to comments on their site transfers take weeks to arrive. I'm hoping Wise gets these problems fixed.

What used to take seconds to transfer to my Bangkok bank account using Wise for the last couple of months is now taking hours and in fact longer than they said when I did the transfer this morning. I sent money to 3 accounts, 2 were Bangkok Bank accounts and one was to Kasikorn (to my wife). Kasikorn took seconds, I'm still waiting as is the other family member who also has a Bangkok Bank account.

 

Just checked, Wise returned the money to my bank. So I tried again, wanted to wait until tomorrow. <deleted> that, cancelled. I'll send it to my wife's Kasikorn account and she'll transfer to me, then instant, I hope.

 

Tomorrow I'm going to empty and close my Bkk account and open a new account at Kasikorn as whether it is the fault of Wise or Bangkok Bank it is intolerable compared with previous service.

I think the problem is Bangkok bank, not wise.

I'm also going to open a Kasikorn account.

Arrived today at 14.02, as International Transfer into Bangkok Bank. Sweet.

I tried again when I got home and it went straight through with no problems. Not sure what happened earlier. Thai bank is SCB.

Having got my transfer to Bangkok Bank cancelled and money returned by Wise I immediately sent it back to Wise and using Wise sent it to my wife's Kasikorn account. Arrived in seconds so then she transferred the money to my Bangkok Bank account and of course well-nigh instant.

 

Off to Kasikorn Bank tomorrow!

So it's my originating bank, not Wise, no surprise there.

I just received some funds into Bangkok Bank, sent on 29th September, received on 2nd October...

Ten days ago I transferred 50,000 THB to my Kasikorn account, arrived in seconds as always.
Just now transferred same amount and same reason ("travel expenses"), and now moping around in front of a green screen showing

"Almost there - We just need a few more minutes to finish your transfer. Won't be long."

Fifteen minutes and counting. 

Looks like not only Bangkok Bank is affected ; I just hope the problem does not come from KBank as my account was opened 25 years ago on a tourist "visa" - and still is.

So it's always better to keep a balance in WISE, just in case you need it instantly. I keep GBP 500 there.

Thanks but Wise charges 10 EUR when my French bank would have charged about 40 EUR (I always keep some money in my Wise account so that I don't have to deal with the double transfer French Bank > Wise and Wise - KBank every time I send money to Thailand). 

 

The money is now in my thai account so it was not so long even for the stressed-out guy I am.

One advantage of not using Wise balance is that I send when the exchange rate is favourable to me.

You now added some more GBP to your balance, so if the exchange rate approves in the future, which I highly suspect since Anutin wants the baht down, you are losing already

The GBP/THB rate went down since I converted, so I am Bht 150 up ! Whooooh

My son sent me THB 20k via SWIFT from Dubai at 12 noon yesterday. It just arrived. Bkk Bank took Bht 115, I can live with that.

How can it arrive before you send it please, and who adds some more money?

Nationwide charges GBP20 for any amount.
