No your tax dollars aren't going to support undergraduate education.. The bulk of the money Harvard receives from the government has nothing to do with this. It funds scientific research. Research that helps to keep America technologically competitive.

Then why do all the lefties have their panties in a wad that Trump's withholding federal funds?  It's a private institution that receives $ billions of our tax money.  To teach this crap:

Another $500K degree that qualifies the graduate for a $7.50 an hour job at Starbucks.  No wonder they need their student loans forgiven.

I've been to Harvard.  To visit friends who went there and to score liberal chicks. 

 

But I got my degree from Texas A&M that qualified me for a career that put me in the top few percentages of salaries.  And being in state, my degree cost peanuts.  I could pay for my entire 4 year degree with half of my first year's salary.  That ROI beats the crap out of a Harvard degree.

 

So who's smarter?  I'll bet it's not someone with a $500K Gender Studies degree.

Every discipline with a PhD program at Harvard gets tax dollars to do research. The idea that the “research” is all cutting edge medical, “science” or engineering is ridiculous. Much of the funding goes to woke nonsense. 

 

The student loan program is also tax dollars funding the universities as well, and should be discontinued. Let the universities fund their own loans.

This is the delusional world of the left, and it will surely continue long after the current administration until it hits a rock hard bottom. There’s no way this current fraction in society can sustain a prosperous functional life and economic development, they will eventually crash and burn. Survival of the fittest and Darwin will weed them out.

I'm not against federal support for student loans.  It just needs to be done smarter.  For example, they need to consider historical default rate of different universities and degree programs and cut off loans to the bad ones that are likely to doom the graduates to a life of debt. 

 

Sadly, I suspect the lefties would scream bloody murder because their favorite universities and indoctrination programs would probably be the first to get cut off.  And it would probably devastate HBCU's.  But it would spare their graduates from years of debt (that can't be discharged in a bankruptcy).

 

There must be something in the water at Cambridge considering that degenerate Alfred Kinsey got his start there over 100 years ago.

I agree with you. The Fed conducted a study that found an increase in student loans is correlated with rising tuition costs at schools. Colleges have no incentive to keep costs down. If student loans were provided by private institutions, there would be less funding for degrees that offer no economic value.

You are correct.  The Democrats never want to look at programs to insure the programs are effective and efficient.   

They should defund the police and use that money for student loan forgiveness. Was that their plan?
