U.S. Treasury proposes one dollar Trump coin

Featured Replies

The coin wound pair nicely nicely with those enormous banners they put on government buildings, kind of like a celebration of Mussolini, Kim or Orban. Trump is such a ridiculous man and his ego is so puffed up, one does not even know where to begin to level a critique at him.

All US currency bears the faces of men who served either as U.S. president or secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.   It's only legal to use the face of someone who is no longer

  • I wouldn't call this proposal normal but on the other hand almost nothing is normal about the Trump regime.

  • I think this likeness would be perfect for the coin…

Perhaps an orange finish???

IMHO only "fools gold" would apply for this presidential likeness !

Only a one dollar coin? Trump's ego won't like that.

Likely only something like a special 1000 dollar 'big beautiful' gold coin with his image on both sides, so you can always see him would be good enough.

Is a government department such as the treasury actually allowed to make such a partisan political statement?

Second Trump Administration

In October 2025, complaints were filed alleging Hatch Act violations after partisan statements blaming Democrats for a government shutdown were posted on the official HUD website. The statements, attributed to White House spokesperson Davis Ingle and HUD spokespersons, including Kasey Lovett, accused Democrats of pursuing a “$1.5 trillion wish list” and referred to them as the “Radical Left.” Critics argued that using an agency website for partisan attacks constituted improper political activity.

In October 2025, ethics observers raised concerns that White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt's voicemail on the official White House comment line, which blamed Democrats for the federal government shutdown, violated the Hatch Act. The message claimed Democrats prioritized "funding healthcare for illegal immigrants" over serving the American people.

I have read through the docs the Democrats are looking to push through to open up the government.  Once you go through the references and look at current law, it specifically says that legal immigrants are able to make use of ACA and Medicare, it specifically excludes allowing these programs to be available to illegal immigrants.  Straight from Healthcare.gov "Undocumented immigrants can't get Marketplace health coverage. They may apply for coverage on behalf of documented individuals."  The bold face lies that are now a daily event from this administration have become astounding.

That's ok but that won't fit on the commemorative coin.

and a blatant lie at that.  But the Hatch Act was previously used in relations to a Trumper but that was just ignored too.  Laws that might be used against political foes or anyone not kneeling to his whims are constantly at play IMHO and watching how he goes about his daily life.

Trump’s oligarch buddy, Sam Altman, who owns ChatGPT, balks at free speech — censoring likenesses of Donald and wingman Jeffrey.

In reality, Trump and Epstein double-teaming Jane Doe would be closer to the truth.

I like that as an anti-Trump resistance fund raising item.

They could put a monetary value in quotes to indicate that it isn't legal tender.

Ah Rachel Maddow...now there is a "reliable" news source.  Saying she's a trustworthy source of the news is akin to saying  Brian Stelter would be a great spokesman for a weight loss program

One day. Just one day. I want to spend just one day without seeing another of Trump's endless narcissistic displays.

Be happy haters knowing you can carry a pocketful of Trump coins around with you and see the Trump MAGA face every day. Should also mint a MAGA coin and of course a Biden coin too...showing Biden laying on the beach eating ice cream or maybe a coin commemorating his auto-pen dumpster fire admin.

Is trump the only one connected to Jeffrey or are there any other prominent politicians who are ?

Seems hes the only one ever talked about.

Do not mistake my comment. I have publically stated many many times that anyone and everyone connected to epstiens crimes should be held accountable.

I'm advocating putting Biden's face on the Iranian Rial....it's the weakest currency in the world and falling rapidly like Biden on a bicycle.

I'll go one better; it's like claiming a demented convict is able to lead a country!🤣

When was the last time Trump was seen on a bicycle?
