A motorcyclist had a shocking discovery after riding for three hours with a snake hidden inside his helmet. The incident, shared online on 4 October, has drawn wide attention for its unnerving details and the rider’s narrow escape from possible harm.

The rider, identified on Facebook as “Tum Baramee Luangpor Thob Jirasak Tharanat,” posted a video showing the moment he removed his helmet to find a small snake slithering inside. He explained that he had been riding for several hours when he sensed something unusual, prompting him to remove the helmet. The clip shows the reptile moving within the lining, leaving commentators unsettled.

In his post, the motorcyclist wrote: “I wore it while riding for 3 hours. I was shocked. What snake is this? Is it poisonous? Luckily, I wasn’t bitten.” The comments section was filled with reactions ranging from relief at his safety to disbelief at the close call.

The footage confirms the snake was small in size but its species and whether it was venomous were not immediately clear. Fortunately, no injuries occurred and the rider managed to remain calm despite the potentially dangerous situation.

The case has raised awareness among motorcyclists and prompted reminders to carefully check helmets and gear before use. Incidents of snakes and small animals seeking shelter inside clothing or equipment are uncommon but not unheard of in rural and suburban Thailand.

Key Takeaways

• A motorcyclist rode for three hours with a small snake hidden in his helmet.

• The rider discovered the reptile only after removing the helmet, escaping unharmed.

• The case has sparked safety reminders for riders to check helmets before use.

On the picture, what is the red "thing " ? I thought first it was the  snake before I saw it on the video

as for me, at home, I always keep my helmet upside down, I am affraid  of centipedes

i hope the Motorcyclist returned it to its familiar territory.

Just imagine that dropping down in front of your eyes and going up your nose while riding down the road.

Me too and that variety is known as a "one-eyed trouser snake".

Yes but mine is a baby Spitting Cobra

Looks like a tree snake. Imagine if it had dropped down in front of his vision while driving. That would likely have really panicked him.

Most snakes in TH are NOT poisonous.

False panic.

More importantly, most are NOT VENOMOUS (whilst only one or two are actually poisonous)

We get King Cobras and Pit Vipers in our garden in Phuket very regularly though.

The only problem there, is that they all bite, and 1/4 of them can kill you, and without good ID knowledge, many of the venomous ones are dangerous, like the Kraits and Vioers. and they look like the non venomous ones. Best to avoid all unless you really know. I see them weekly on my farm area, but i don't know but a few and I'm not going to get close anyway. In Texas there's only 4 that are venomous and the Coral is rarely seen, the others easy to ID and avoid.  One real worry here is keeping my daughter safe from them, as she's only 8.

A common wolf snake?

yep, the type of snake I see the most around my house.

That's all we need. Yet another excuse for not wearing a helmet. 🙄

Venomous or not , biggest problem is that it's very unpleasant to have a snake in one's helmet

not false panic, real panic ( at least for me )

Worse than a scorpion in one's shoe?  🤔

Not worse, unpleasant  ( stupid guy put a 😀 ... 🤑)

One day I put on an oven mitt, I felt something move around my thumb, I went to the sink, I took the mitt off and turned it, a very live centipede came out

like a snake, unpleasant

Note to self ... look carefully before picking up MC cover :w00t:

Golden Tree Snake, venomous, but harmless to humans.  Dog went in for a taste test, as we saw trying to enjoy the AC, coming from the bottom of the front.

She stopped went told to, sort of. Snake made it's escape, for some cover, better perch.

Glad our doors are very flush to the ground.
