Farmer bailout

Featured Replies

My question is should the American taxpayer continue to bail out the the very people who continue to vote in the guy who wrecked their markets twice!!I say no let them fail it’s their own fault.they knew better from the first time around.

The farmers will be bailed out, but the bail-out will be structured in a way that benefits the big corporate farmers the most and the smaller family owned farms the least.

Absolutely not. And equally the EU and countries like France, Germany, etc should stop molly coddling farmers as if they were fragile babies.

Farmers are responsible for some of the worst distortions of the landscape in rural areas and they get rewarded as if they were delicate flowers.

Bearing in mind this is all fall out from Biden's disastrous economic plans.......I think it reflects well on Trump that he is prepared to step in and save them.

He had no choice but to bail them out as the very dumb tariff policies have been hugely  damaging to American agriculture, as well as many American Industries. Don the Destroyer at work.

Soybeans are the single largest American export to China in terms of value, $12.6 billion worth last year. But as the fall harvest gets underway across the country — 9 percent of planted beans had been harvested as of last week — the country that bought 52 percent of all American soybean exports last year is completely absent.

The cause is retaliatory tariffs China has placed on the United States, making the price of American soybeans unattractive for buyers there. Throughout the summer, farmers hoped the Trump administration and China would reach a trade agreement that would drop the tariff on their crops, but so far, no relief was forthcoming.

Already, the consequences are stacking up for American farmers. On Monday, the Trump administration pledged to support Argentina as it faces economic turmoil. The same day, Argentina suspended its tax on exports of a number of key crops, including soybeans. Shortly thereafter, Chinese companies bought more than one million tons of Argentine soybeans, according to Reuters, increasing the nation’s ability to hold out from buying the crop from America.

I get caught on a regular basis....so no biggy.....cheers.

First -  Stay on topic.  Bickering is not "on-topic."  Please stop. Bickering posts hidden.
Second - This is about farmers bailouts, which by the way, I see no link to.  OP @Tug Drop a link into this thread so members know what you're actually discussing.  I tempted to close this as I really don't know what the purpose of this thread is without a reference to a source about "farmer bailouts" in the US.
Third - I suggest referring to Spidermike007 to get back on track as its about the only post which is linked to a source that discusses farmer bailouts.

I've dropped links which discuss a "bailout" for US soybean farmers.

I don’t think you needed to add the last word …. I think that even some fools wearing red hats would have understood what you intended to infer ….nice one mate

Farmer bailout

Poor effort when you consider Master Bates, Seaman Staines and Roger the Cabin Boy

People who are against helping those in need, in principle, perhaps need to learn a bit of humility and compassion.  These guys have been, and apparently continue to be, a solid voting bloc that votes against their own interests, go figure.  It's been going on for decades and words alone will not change that.

But it is sad for them as the situation is in the hands of the clueless, but at least they can take comfort that it is being done by White men.
