Where can I find an area with empty smooth roads in Pattaya?

For someone that got their license but is still not ready and needs to get more confident, where to practice in Pattaya (or surrounding areas)? Ideally somewhere far from the action, with a good asphalt and no kids/dogs running around.

She will not get road experience in a car park though. That's the most important aspect of driving here.

Agree but Before road experience the basics must be learnt.

It's a huge area, good for learners

I started with a Thai girl and her motorbike on Phra Tamnak Hill many moons ago. Later of course you'll get onto the roads. Pointless comment about road experience @KannikaP Do you imagine that she will always ride in car parks? It's just to get a feel for things, in so that you are more confident and stable by the time you get to the roads.

How do you pass a test if you cannot ride at all? It seems that you love to Troll topics just to get an oar in.

Have you ever taken the riding part for license?

Sorry, I misunderstood the OP question

I did not realise licence already obtained.

I assume you are talking about you and riding a bike?  Good idea to get familiar with the bike's feel and balance etc - before venturing on the roads. Good idea to use a big carpark - when confident progress to multi-story carparks going up and down and around - then go in and around a few local villages.

Nope, and never will. I like living!

if you can drive out to Sukhumvit to the area of Soi Yansangwaram (Wat Yaan temple complex) opposite the renaisance hotel (just before Baan Saray), there are very quiet roads

to ride around the lake there. Some of the best roads i have seen with pavements for pedestrians, bicycle lane, and car lanes, loads of reflectors on the road and good lighting as i believe the king sometimes comes to this complex. It does have some dogs roaming around from time to time, but then again, they are everywhere.

hope it helps

She has her driving's license, so must have some experience.

If you don't mind a drive out to the dark side, go past Siam Country Club (golf course), from there the roads are very nice and smooth, low traffic usually.

I would explore that area, very nice both from a traffic viewpoint and nice nature to experience.

Riding a motorbike can make life easier here.

And more fun, as long as you are competent.

I've got friends, in their 70's, riding 1198, 1260cc Ducatis, these guys riding bikes since teenagers.

Much prefer to ride with them than some of the young people on the road these days

How about the car park at the  Sports stadium?

7 motorway.

3am there is very little traffic, have do a lap to bangers and back each night.

Most Northern car park of Mabprachan Lake.
Road around Silver Lake area or around Siam Country Club area.

You do seen to have a comprehension problem...best you re-read his comment, read slowly.

How do you come to that conclusion please? I did re-read the OP who says his GF needs to know the basics before driving in traffic.

I merely asked whether or not she knew the basics before passing her test, which seems to make sense to me.

How is it in your country, passing driving test before knowing the basics? And learning to drive in traffic on an empty carpark?

on the dark side, but that forces you to cross threpasit

drive slow with your head on a swivel at all time,

there is no predictability how others will turn at any given time,

or if they will stay put or cut you off from a side road.

good luck

if a dog get in the way, dont try to outmaneuver it,

rather speed up to bump it away without you going down

You didn't reply to the op...go back and see who/what you replied to.

OK, it is so easy to reply to the 'wrong' person in a thread with many participants.

I do apologise sincerely if I upset you by doing so.

No it doesn't.

Sukhumvit Road perhaps, but the OP hasn't responded to a request for his location so even that is a bit presumptuous.
