Three Japanese tourists in Pattaya have been fined after attempting to lift a hairdresser’s skirt while she worked, sparking outrage online. The incident, captured on CCTV, has drawn attention both locally and in Japan. The tourists expressed remorse, raising their hands in apology and stating they wished to apologise to the victim.

The incident occurred on 19 October at K.K Hairstyles @ Pattaya Barbers & Salon, located near Pattaya Beach. Four Japanese tourists had visited the salon, with one receiving a haircut while the other three sat on the sofa at the back. During this time, the three allegedly tried to lift the hairdresser’s skirt, laughing as they did so, unaware they were being filmed.

Police, led by Lt. Col. Aniruj Jehra, deputy investigation officer at Pattaya City Police Station, located the four tourists at a hotel on Pattaya Second Road. Upon arrival at the police station, three initially avoided the media and retreating to the interrogation room. After persuasion, they spoke via a translation app, saying “I want to apologise” and raised their hands in a gesture of remorse, without providing reasons for their actions.

Authorities charged the tourists under Section 388 of the Criminal Code, which covers “acts of public indecency” including exposure or other obscene behaviour in public, punishable by a fine of 5,000 baht. The case is classified as a minor offence. The tourists expressed a desire to meet the victim, Ms Kanokkan, in person to apologise, though she is currently out of town. Police indicated that, if both parties agree, a meeting for reconciliation could be arranged.

Sometimes it costs getting handsy.  I had a long time caddy at a golf course in Thailand.  She was NOT on the game and NOT a toy.  I never actually asked or considered it personally.  She was a caddy and a damn good one too.  Wish I could putt as well as she read lines.

One day she is working for one of a large group of Korean tourists.  The man she is caddying for apparently thought ALL thai women were play things and actually put his hands inside her shirt and such not.  She reported him to management when they finished.

That man and the leader of the large Korean contingent were told either he pays her 50,000 baht or they could forget ever playing that course again.  The group leader made him pay.

The truly amazing part is course management didn't take a cut of the money.  She got it all.  😄

Better result than one would get with the police then!

Money seems to oil the waters here.

So the 15,000 Baht goes to the hairdresser?

Fair enough I guess for a few moments of humiliation?

so how much should she get?

you're right. 15K isn't that much.

she may also be married and have a family, so brings humiliation to the family.

I watch a lot of Japanese porn and they seem to be the biggest perverts on the planet.

And that is just the women.

Too noisy for me.

Didn't a lady who got groped on Walking Sreet a few years ago get about 80K Baht?

What did they think was going to happen? She would laugh playfully and say "Hihihihi, yes Yukio, left skirt more please, you Japanese men so funny and sexy, make me feel so attractive"?

Given the high IQ of Japanese this incident is very intriguing.
