No, it's not.

The meeting was short. I got fired. Thus I was able to make it on time to her house. Only 3 minutes late.

 

As usual I parked at the top of the street, as she doesn't like me parking in front of her house. But I walked towards her as she walked towards me. She was dressed very stylishly as always in a brown ensemble with...Crocs. Her hair was not done as carefully, she didn't look as stunning, but good enough.

 

As she came closer, I kissed her and then I pulled the pink wrapped present from my back and said "I have a pressent for you". She smiled from ear to ear and asked "What is it"? I said open it. She refused, she wouldn't open it.

 

I wanted to open the door for her but my unfriendly car was on auto-lock, so I had to go around inside, unlock, and she then opened the door herself. Fail. Anyway, in the car we got into deep conversation as we always do.

 

I asked her are there any problems in her life, anything that concerns her. I know the idea is to be cheerful and upbeat, but I wanted to know. To see if I can help her. She said "One thing. Mother wants me to take care of her. That would be a long and difficult job, I would have to go to Chiang Dao. I want to live my life really". I told her the story of how my mother just nursed my grandmother who was dying, and how very hard it is for the person taking care of someone dying. And that she was right to carefully consider it, as it would be emotionally difficult and hard work. It was a more light-hearted conversation than it sounds.

 

As we got into Big C she asked me "Give me a hint what's inside the present" still smiling ear to ear. I said "I protect you", that's your hint. There was an umbrella inside. Then she made a number of false guesses, still smiling "a scarve?" "Some clothing?" " A gun?" I said "maybe". She still didn't open it.

 

As we got into Big C all the food vendors had closed up shop already, not a great atmossphere. But we went shopping. I decided to just use the cart she took. So she had to shop for her mother. Mother wanted a set of big boxes for her clothes. This girl was ambling around Big C like she'd never been there. All over the place. And I couldn't guide her because I didn't know what she wanted. I put the boxes she chose and carried them to the trolly. After the boxes she said she was looking for a tea cup for her mother. But chinese style, with a cover. Big C did not have those. However, Cameroni did. It just so happened that one of my favourite things in the world was this artistic Japanese made tea cup, I actually liked it so much I took it from my home country to Thailand. I told her I can help her out.

 

Anyway, we continued shopping. We stopped at the blueberries. She said "Oh no, but these are much cheaper". Some blueberries had reduced price. I said "Yes, it should be fine, blueberries last a long time". But she took the fresh ones.She asked where are the eggs. Thankfully I knew, and could point her in the right direction so I wasn't completely useless. Then she bought some oranges. Neither she nor I remembered she had to get a weight ticket, but she eventually remembered it.

 

It was a surreal experience to go shopping in Big C with your dream woman. It was making me tingle on the inside, but at the same time, you felt like you didn't do enough to guide her and it wasn't exaclty a romantic atmosphere. She wanted a pill box. For mother's medicine. I suggested the pharmacy. The pharmacy stopped selling them. When we went to the cashier it was about 1500 baht. I wasn't gonig to pay as it was mostly her things, she paid and I then gave her 150 baht for my few items. Maybe I should have paid in full.

 

I suggested KFC is still open, as I know she likes KFC. We went there, it looked closed, but to our surprise they said they're still open. She ordered this big bucket, I thought for her family, so I ordered too, but then I found out the bucket for us. I added fries. Then we sat down to eat.

 

She mixed the ketchup and spicy sauce, very clever. Never seen that before. But it was good. What was not good was that she was on the phone suddenly. She apologized, "An emergency, sorry" She was on the phone for a while. Then stopped to eat. "Do you like it"? "It's okay", I said . "That's what KFC is like" she said. I then said "What's your plan for your birthday?" She said "Just celebrate with family". I said "I would like to drop by and give you something for your birthday. If  you want I can come in the morning just at your house. If you can join me for lunch or dinner that would be great. Or we can do it the day after." She smiled but didn't reply either way. Then I said "Or we can fly to Bali. You said you wanted to see Bali". She smiled nervously. She clearly thought this was somehow massively inappropriate. She didn't talk much after that. Even in the car. She was really quiet. 

 

I thought maybe it was because I'd said let's drive to my place, I will get the cup I mentioned for your mother, and she was concerned it was a ruse to get her into bed. But it was because of what I said about Bali I think. Anyway, she was mostly on the phone in the car. I tried to make conversation. But she hardly talked. I kept trying. She answered, but she would not continue the conversation. I started to feel like I said something wrong.

 

As we arrived at my place, I told her to just wait in the car, I would only be 5 minutes. My house was a pig sty, as the cleaner hadn't come yet. Then I realised. I left the lights on, so maybe she thought I had someone there? I hope not. There was noone. I just left the light on. Anyway, I showed her this beautiful Japanese cup, adornned with gold leaf, and green art on white. She looked at it interested, but did not say "thank you".

 

On the way back I was desperate to make conversation. Of any kind. She hardly talked and was on the phone. I started to tell her the Calvin Coolidge joke and the Coolidge effect. About the most idiotic thing you could have come up with. I wanted to make a joke. She didn't even crack a smile. The only good part was when I asked her if she could design the perfect man for her, what would he be like? She said "respectful. Loyal. And a good provider". Those things are important. I agreed. I also asked her how important Christianity was in her life. She said emphatically "Very important". She confirmed her parents raised her Christian and were Christian themselves. She also confirmed she was born in Thailand and had a Thai passport. I asked if she had any plans for tomorrow. She said "Yes". Then long pause. She clearly did not want to say more. But the pause was too awkward. She continued "Just to see somet things." Here in Chiang Mai? "Yes, but the plan is not firm yet". I didn't press it. Probably another date.

 

As we pulled up to her place, I unpacked the big boxes out of the trunk, she asked me to put them on the floor.As she lifted them up, I did the same and said "So what do we do on the 28th, how do we do it?" She said I will let you know smiling. I tried to kiss her, but she had started walking away, so I got air. She walked off with the boxes. I stood there land ooked at her. She turned around, smiled and said "You can go now". I still stood there watching her walk away as she laughed. Then I drove home.

 

There's no way she's an escort.

 

No text from her, to say if her mother liked the cup, if I arrived home safe. Nothing.

I made sure she took the umbrella package.. I bet she was disappointed when she realised it was just an umbrella. She made so many guesses. Even said maybe it's another phone case. I said "Yes, I realised in hindsight the glittery purple hue cover is not your style, I really need to get you another one". She was trying to be nice about it, "No it s fine". But when were at KFC I saw the cover she had was not the one I got. I need to get her a new one.

 

Yes, I should have joked exactly like that. But I was too subdued. The silences were so long. I lost my mojo. That joke would have been good, though she didn't seem in a laughing mood. I think she was concerned it took so long, her mother even called her.

Yes, it's really strange with this girl. It always starts so good and then at the end it goes flat. Yesterday as well, it started really good. She was excited about the little present. In the car she commented right away how nice the car smelled. I said yes, I just got it cleaned, because I am a very clean guy, see  a white shirt. She laughed. The conversation in the car was good and deep. I got to know her more, her deepest issue.

 

Then as we went shopping it started to feel odd. Like we were a couple doing shopping, but we weren't really. In KFC she finally went a bit quiet. Maybe it was the phone "emergency". Perhaps her mother and sister were giving her grief for being out so long? 

 

You're right, when I  said "Or we can fly to Bali" it came out almost half-joking. Maybe she thought I was trying to buy her with an expensive trip. Or that it was not something to joke about? Maybe it was too soon?

 

The silences were long. I really tried my best, I: was talking about all kinds of nonsense, trying to make jokes. I even told her I liked when she revealed her 3 bad sides and I only told her one, I still owed her two. So I said I really like old things, old music and old movies, that some people dont' like it but I do. She didn't say anything. Didnt' even ask me what the third thing was. So I didn't say. I told her I: liked what she said about her view of love on date 1. Again silence. Maybe she thought there was someone in my house because I left the light on? I didn't ask her to go inside because my house was a filthy mess, maybe she thought I didn't ask her in because I had someone in the house? I left the lights on.

 

Yes, it felt very good to be with her, nonetheless. The goodbye was not good. She just picked up the boxes and I did the same, as if I was stopping her from just walking away and asked about what we do on her birthday. I don't know why my kiss timing is so off, but that was clearly the worst time to go for it, as she was walking away. I'd made a plan to hold her in place, kiss her for real. But she was holding the boxes. I really just got air as she walked away.

 

She didn't say "You better go now". She said "You can go now" as she turned around and looked at me, laughing.. I kind of felt bad letting her carry those huge 3 boxes. i wanted to carry them for her to her house, but she didn't want her family see a guy with her.

 

Yes, Phuket girl missed me a lot, as I didn't write much. She was really warm and sweet. I'm at a real crossroads. If Phuket girl doesnt' get a ticket this weekend or the next she'll look for someone else. However, CM girl is playing it Sphinx like and is not exactly burning with desire to take it further. I guess we'll see in the next few days if she does contact me what to do on her birthday or not.

Something about numbers. I guess I have to wait for my massive inheritance now. Just kidding, :I have a second job for an eventuality like this, but yah, I'll find something else. I have a world-class CV. This job was never my life, only to pay the bills. It's a bit annoying because the money was good.

I wished it had been more exciting yesterday, but going to Big C is really not conducive to a massive excitement surge. It was everday business really.

 

It really takes two for it to become riveting, and she was not giving me much to work with, at least in the second part.

 

I did get to know her a bit better. Everytime you spend time together is a good thing, and you get a little closer. But she's not revealing any cards, and being fairly cold, at the end of the date at least.

 

I'll have to see if she contacts me about plans for her birthday.

Yes, I see those ads all the time as well and make sure to ignore them. I think CM girl has a lot on her plate with her mother's impending demise. Her mother requested her clearly that she should be the one to nurse her, but she understands, being the intelligent girl she is, what it would mean for her amazing dating life and is not keen.

 

I did find out her mother does not get dialysis yet, but it is coming soon. The mother is obviously very seriously ill and that weighhs heavily on her. Not just because of the illness, but because she's apprehensive about what it will mean for her life.

 

I asked her how this will play out, how she plans to resolve it. She said "Ill deal with it when the time comes".

 

Of course if she really needed money for medical bills for her mother, the escort thing would make sense. I just don't see it from her whole demeanour, how she was very empahtic that being a Christian is very important to her.

Yes, its' all possible in theory, and yes, obviously after meeting her my Vie en Rose filter kicked in big time again, but I have to be honest, it's really hard to imagine this girl is an escort. I mean she does have the emotional coldness in parts, but I gotta say it's very hard to imagine. She doesn't give off Escort vibes in the sligthest.

 

But yah, the heart broke a little when she said she had plans tomorrow to "see some stuff" in CM and was not forthcoming. That could just be a date or well more.

I always do my own, but as pedestrian as it sounds, I think that is the most likely explanation, she's not an escort, just someone who likes to go on dates a lot.
