Root canal at Mos dentist?

Featured Replies

Got an infection under a molar with a crown, bloody painful. My usual dentist said it probably needs to come out or root canal, but gave me Amoxylin first to see if that cleared it up. He does not do root canal treatment so suggested Mos clinic up the road. Am I right in thinking they can just drill through the crown to do it instead of taking the crown off? Is Mos a good chain of dentist's?

I doubt it. If there is decay or Karies under the crown?

"My" dentist in Chiangmai however got equipment to see it on the screen. Looks like a "mini'mri.

Yes,  in most cases they can drill into the tooth.  But,  if that is not their option or they crack the tooth from drilling a crown will be needed.

Also, you may have a cracked root which a root canal will not resolve.

In this case, you will need an extraction and implant.

Many dentists in Thailand but find an experienced one not some young rookie who says "oh, I don't know."

I take it by Mos you mean this dental clinic in Bangkok?

If so, I have not heard any feedback on them; maybe someone else has..  But choice is abundant in Bangkok. Among clinics AN members have recommended are:

https://bangkokdentalcenter.com/

http://www.dentalhospitalbangkok.com/

https://www.thantakit.com/

If concerned sbout cost, this government faciluty will vost less

Why on earth would you prefer them to drill through the crown rather than remove it (normal procedure and best in terms if sereng and removong all decay)?  Either way you end up needing a new crown.

Mahidol is a bit hit and miss have seen a very good dentist there and some not so good, long wait of course.. Pretty sure I have had root canal work done before where they drilled into it without a new crown.
