The neck is sprayed white.

I believe it's still a maple neck, at least that's what Google claims. I had to look up the specs, that is one rare, beautiful guitar.

My liver. Packed it in years ago. The body just by-passes it now.🙃🙃

Still have an Ovation Balladeer I bought in Hessey's in Liverpool.

I just wish I had kept my 65 Esquire, 72 Strat, 73 Jazzmaster, 60s Fender X11, 72 Mustang Bass, 82 Precision Bass, 91 Precision Lite, 81 Ampeg 400V bass amp, Bassman cab with 2 x JBL K140s, 74 Twin Reverb.

Now I cover them all with a Variax 700 and a Line 6 UX2 interface. That's progress ?????

My brother has a matching blue one.

I have not bought my permanent home I plan to retire to yet, but when I do, it will be my object.

I keep my appartment in Norway, good to have just in case.

My gadget which makes my life easier, is my budget phone Google Pixel 9a. Paid around 14k baht for it on sale in Norway before it was in stock. Good enough pics, and basically keeps my life on track, and pays my bils, and shopping. I guess that’s the most important thing/object in my life, while the appartment is my safety asset.

I never had a thing for just things, it needs to be a purpose. I carried things that I didn’t use anymore out of nostalgic reasons, but since I moved often, it became a burden to continue to carry them around, so I let it go. Actually felt liberating.

That is so sad, having your phone dictate your life.

Well, I find it handy, and it makes my day and life easier. With my bank id I can do everything of duties and also with a few click do all my banking, taxes where ever Im in the world. No need to carry lap top or tablet. Even in Thailand I can go cashless almost everywhere these days. Soon hopefully passport and visa and driving license in Thailand to.

And if/ when it gets lost or stolen...............?

Yes I know that you could buy a new phone, and set it up from a backup, but what a hassle. Keep all your data on a PC, as well!

For me, it has to be my Apple Watch Ultra. Titanium and sapphire, strong as an ox, and weighs a ton, so I never forget it's there.

Honestly, it’s probably the only thing I love more than my Pornhub account.

It certainly sounds like your wrist is getting a good workout. 🙂

For me its my watches - 2024 rolex root beer and my fathers omega 1954 seamaster .

It is less hassle than if your wallet or bag gets stolen, and I do keep a back up phone as well.

And relatively easy to replace.

Visa takes a bit more effort to replace, so both together is a process with multiple trips if in Thailand. Would been nice to have it in a digital app on the phone.

You do have. It's called Gallery (in Android), or keep all in One/Google Drive.

Photos of passport pages, and bank details are on mine.

Replaced earlier this year via an agent. Took four weeks, in which time I still had my old one. Went to Immigration on my next scheduled 90 days, where original Visa stamps were transferred there & then, no problems, only one visit.

I'm talking about digital passport and visa, same we got for national id and driving license in some European countries now.

Back home I haven't carried a driving license the last two years.

You must have a photo on your Digital Passport, whatever that may be. No paper Passports in Norway? Must you always carry your ID card with you?

There is an app to keep your Thai DL on your phone, but a physical version is still recommended...keep it under the sun visor.

Only a necessity if one wish's travel abroad, many do not.

Rubettes?

Hmm, a material thing that I still own...  Probably the pocket monthly calendars from when I was a seriously motivated rising young engineer in aerospace during the 80's.  I had something going on every day of the week including the 3 weekdays of happy hrs after work (had killer free food), running 10k's on the weekends, 2x a day at the gym, picking up my date in one of the 1st 2nd gen RX7s in LA county, plays, concerts, etc...  Was barely at my apt. at all.  Although, now, it makes me tired just remembering 😉

One thing I did just sell recently that I miss was my tiny 2 bdrm bachelor pad in Port Hueneme CA.  Had the most killer view! Sold because I could never see myself living back there especially with no 2nd/3rd story elevator as age sets in seriously.

The lead singer of the Rubettes, Alan Williams, lived in the next road to me in Dagenham when I was growing up in the 70's. I was just a lad but my mum said he was a lovely chap. Always said good morning and stopped for a chat whenever my mum or dad were out getting the newspapers and a loaf in the morning.

Some interesting replies. I arrived where I live now on the bank of the Mekhong 5 years ago while on a 5 month trip in a small camper with a lady I met a year before. Only had clothes and not much else.

Other than an inexpensive EV that I like, I still don't have anything I couldn't lose tomorrow without much concern.  Realised early on that possessions and having kids needed to be avoided so I could be  untethered.  Most definitely should have added getting married to the list.

Instead of acquiring things, I put money in the bank and used it  on some memorable adventures and the ex, I hope, is enjoying half of it.

I always put in the name of whoever I'm with at the moment. So it isn't technically mine.  Easier for them to deal with the purchase and the yearly registration. I only spend 80k at most on a bike.

A motorbike or motorbikes?

Just checking

but a motorbike could be replaced by a decent car 😉

No, the Rubettes wore white hats. But they did some good songs, which we tried to copy.

There are now two bands using that name, The Rubettes featuring Alan Williams, and The Rubettes featuring Bill Hurd, another original member. The original high voice was Paul da Vinci aka Paul Prewer.

That makes no sense.

Sleek, precise, tracks all my vitals, keeps me in touch with everyone, plays music, even makes payments. Makes me feel I'm cutting edge, although usually the most daring thing I do with it all day is check the time. Honestly, it’s probably the only thing I love more than my Pornhub account. I know, hard to believe, but life just wouldn’t function the same anymore without that beast on my wrist.

Thanks Bob!
