Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Wednesday that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is a new leader of the Democratic Party by virtue of winning his race on Tuesday.

In an interview on CNN’s “The Source,” anchor Kaitlan Collins asked the progressive senator whether he thinks Mamdani, whom Sanders endorsed, is a party leader “after seeing the results of last night’s elections.”

“Well, of course, he is,” Sanders replied. “He’s going to be the mayor of the city of New York.”

Time for Bernie to consider a buzz cut.

It seems this is something that everyone is celebrating. The right, and seemingly the left too not knowing what this means for their chances in the future

So many who once believed trump's lies are now doing a 180 turnaround as they see their crops rotting on the ground, their food prices skyrocketing, health care almost nonexistent for so many, jobs disappearing, public services disappearing, etc., etc., etc.  More and more each day as the situation hits them personally.

 

The Red Hat squad will be the last holdouts. They will continue to believe even while they are being evicted from their homes, laid off from their jobs, and contracting long-dormant diseases that a simple vaccine could have prevented.

So much foolish hysteria.  Senator Saunders is pushing buttons and stirring the pot. Mr. Saunders is not a Democratic senator. He sits as an independent and is a member of the Vermont progressive party. The man has no authority and no say in the Democrat Party of the USA.  No one in the party leadership and the people who were responsible for the election of  Democrat Governors in New Jersey and Virginia sought his counsel or his support.

 

So what if Mamdani was elected Mayor of New York? The man has limited authority and it stops at the municipal boundary. The Mayor of New York has no say in international affairs, nor in interstate or international commerce. He has no authority in immigration policy or any other subject that is specific to the federal government. Within the  state of New York, his authority is restricted to managing the municipal affairs.  The Mayor will have to gain the support of a majority of  New York's 51 Council district members  throughout the five boroughs. The Borough Mayors clipped the last mayor's wings when they didn't agree with his actions. If Mamdami screws up, it will be the people of New York city who suffer, and no one else. The Governor of New York has the power and authority to intervene should Mamdani not do his job.
