Is this offer by a visa agency for real?

"We now offer a full door to door 30 day extension service. This guarantees you receive a 30 day stamp and avoids the risk of getting seven days."

Sounds like something an agency would offer. I wouldn't doubt that this exists.

Yes, it's for real. They can check an applicant's eligibility with their contacts in immigration before collecting the passport.

To which extent pre-screening is even necessary if you already have a sympathetic/lenient/motivated IO at your disposal is anyone's guess. I don't doubt the outcome in any case - the agent in question has a reputation for delivering what they promise.

Our 30 day extension got rejected last Wednesday after being told the day previous we would get it.

However, our landlady made contact with someone she knows at immigration here and we have to go back this week to try once again.

They stamped my passport until February 3, then changed their mind and cancelled it.

It will be very interesting to see.

This time I'm bringing a flight out and all our documents from our "freedom to marry" application.

Not everything has a link available but here's a screenshot of a possible source for the statement.

There is a huge group that you overlooked.

Not married to Thai, don't want to work in Thailand and are not yet 50.

He didn't overlook anything, his asked the question of why such people would want to stay in Thailand? My guess is that the Thai authorities are just as puzzled as we are, hence the latest measures.

Applied for freedom to marry since November again. 4 month waiting list with my embassy, but they estimate January or early February.

4 months to get an appointment? wow

Yes 4 months minimum too.

I have no idea why that is.

I asked them to expedite it too but they don't give any clear answers.

The embassy has already expedited this according to them.

They just say blame the "Department of foreign affairs" in Ireland.

Like it's nothing to do with them.

There's was no option when we paid to pay extra.

My fiance calls them non stop and the earliest possible is January but most likely February.

Nothing to do with the DOFA in Ireland.

Open a new topic on this subject and I'll reply more comprehensively.

Don't know if we can talk turkey on here. I originally contacted them over a month ago and was given a price. Contacted them a month later and the price was a grand cheaper. Once passport ID page had been submitted and checked I saved another monkey 🙂

I have a feeling that with "monkey", GanDoonToonPet means "500", ie 500 Baht.

From https://www.quora.com/In-British-slang-why-is-five-hundred-pounds-known-as-a-monkey

Quote

“Monkey” as slang for £500 traces to British army and colonial money nicknames from the 19th–20th centuries and the depiction of animals on certain banknotes and coins. Key points:

  • Indian connection: The most cited origin links to British India. On some Indian 500-rupee notes and 500-rupee equivalent silver coins in the late 19th/early 20th century, animal imagery (including monkeys on certain tokens and lower-value pieces) became associated with particular sums. British officers and traders adopted animal nicknames for convenient shorthand; “monkey” stuck to represent 500 in their informal parlance.

Great to hear that it went well.

It's not a problem to share agent prices here, that has been done many times.

Earlier Post ---- Wife spoke to her Imm friend today, who works at the Wang Prachan border in Satun next to Malaysia.

The word there is, it's back to 2 visa exemptions per year, so if, like me, you've had more than 2 this year, don't bother going there, you won't get another.

I was paying their 2000 baht fee every 60 days, which was a good deal for me, but that ends now.

They also said it could change to something new in January lol

Update Coming Soon --- I'll be there this month and will update this thread for this border, hope it helps a few of you chaps out.

It's only the 2nd of January so I doubt anyone has managed two "exemptions" already

Do you mean extensions on a visa-exempt entry?

Sorry have not kept up with the wacky rule changes lately.

I had 6 visa exempts with 2 extensions last year. (around 290 days in the country during 2025).

My last visa exempt in 2025 by air has taken me into 2026 now.

Can i get my one 30 day extension for 2026?

"Why?"

This is what the immigration officer will ask you, so what will be your answer?

I was in Thailand for about 270 days in 2025. Now in Vietnam. I've been here about 3 weeks now.

If I wanted to come back to Thailand, and fly to Suvarnabhumi/Don Mueang, are they going to let me in or put me on the plane back to Vietnam? I've been thinking about using the agent service but then again, it's 2026 now so not sure if I need it 😐

Assume that the 270 was with visa exempt + extensions+ maybe a SETV.

Good luck with another visa exempt entry.

Forget the 2026 idea for reset

No idea where the 270 came from 🤨

I came to Thailand in the beginning of February and left December 15th, so I was in the country for about 315 days last year. So yeah, maybe better use thaivisa service. It's vip service anyway, so no need to wait in line. That's worth money too

Right. I was wondering why I was thinking 270 days 😀
