Police in Songkhla, on 15 November 2025, raided a beauty clinic in Hat Yai and arrested a 37-year-old woman, identified only as Ms A, for practising cosmetic procedures without a licence. Officers found her preparing an injection for a client at the time of the arrest, along with large quantities of unlicensed beauty and vitamin drugs and medical equipment.

The investigation began after complaints from clients who reported allergic reactions and, in some cases, facial deformities following treatments at the clinic. Authorities discovered the clinic operated without a medical establishment licence or authorisation to provide medical care. The drugs and equipment were suspected to have been illegally imported and stored on the premises.

Police obtained a court warrant to search the property, which comprised two adjoining houses. The ground floor served as the beauty clinic where clients were waiting, while the suspect was found upstairs holding a syringe filled with a cosmetic substance. She admitted to operating the clinic for approximately two years, seeing around 20 clients per month, mostly through word-of-mouth or appointments via messaging apps.

Khoasod reported that Ms A confessed that all drugs and medical tools seized belonged to her and were intended for use in cosmetic injections. Authorities have charged her with operating a medical establishment without a licence, practising medicine without authorisation and possessing and selling unregistered drugs and medical devices.

Key Takeaways

• Ms A operated an unlicensed beauty clinic in Hat Yai for two years.

• Authorities seized cosmetic and vitamin drugs along with medical equipment.

• She faces multiple charges including illegal medical practice and unlicensed drug possession.

Considering Thailand is suppoedly claiming to be the medical hub in Asia. This also tarnishes that image. Seems there are quite a few places that run illegal medical clinics in Thailand.

Mo wonder that almost all jobs are protected for foreigners. Suppose that qualified people would open a clinic.....it is amazing Thailand that people without qualifications here can do as they want as there is no good registration centre for anything
