Trump and Bessent clearly are inventing new excuses every day to delay their, by the MAGA disciples on this forum so often touted, $2000 cheque that is on the way.

Recently Bessent told that it may actually be a tax deduction for some, or the no tax on tips etc.

 

This is the latest excuse, and going by what they tout to issue as a dividend, and the money they actually have, what are the odds that congress will approve?

Looks to me this is their final excuse to cancel the cheque, and sprinkle sand in their followers eyes, a bit similar to Thaksin's 10,000 baht cheques, and they will step into it with both feet.

I think this was quite smart by Trump.

He's effectively introduced a new tax on consumer goods paid by the consumer (like a VAT), and it is bringing in money to the treasury.

He has convinced his terminally stupid supporters that other countries are paying it, and they think their glorious leader is a genious in sticking it to the world. Think wall - Mexico!

The world is reassessing the risks involved in trading with an  America who cannot be trusted to abide by a signed agreement and are seeking new trading partners elsewhere. One country will be the loser in the long run!
