Two people were killed and three others seriously injured after a car driver lost control, struck a streetlight and overturned at the Sattahip junction in Chonburi. The white Nissan March, registration from Chonburi, was found on its roof, heavily damaged, with one streetlight on the central reservation knocked down. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash at 00:10 on 17 November 2025.

 

The incident occurred on Sukhumvit Road, heading towards Pattaya, near the intersection in front of a Bangchak petrol station and the entrance to the Naval Command Unit in Sattahip district. Rescue teams from the Sawang Rojanatham Sattahip Foundation confirmed the extent of the damage and assisted the injured.

Authorities reported that the first victim, the 25-year-old female driver, Kamolchanok Rakkhrot, was killed at the scene after being trapped under the car. A male passenger later died despite resuscitation efforts. Three others, Panworas Thathong (31), Isra Thongyot (25) and Phetpailin Muesin (25), sustained severe injuries including head trauma, back pain, and abrasions and were taken to the emergency department at Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital.

 

Eyewitness Panya Pongpatcharaphan told police he saw the car approaching at speed from the red-light junction, ignoring the signal before hitting the streetlight and flipping. Police investigation is ongoing, with CCTV footage and passenger statements to be reviewed to clarify the accident’s cause and the vehicle’s prior movements.ThaiRath reported that further inquiries are underway to determine the full details of what contributed to the crash. Police have yet to release official findings.
