Elon Musk Says Money Will Stop Being Relevant in the Future

OK, you have your reasons 🙂

I feel he is free to support Trump and create DOGE.

I had no idea Tesla's board were sycophants and honestly I seriously doubt you know either.

What type of oversight?  Does oversight always produce positive results?

As for pissing off execs, the execs have made it blatantly obvious they love the package and the pay for performance aspects of it.

You admire his accomplishments.  Do you admire his intellect and drive?  He is human and has many flaws as we all do but because he supports a politician you don't like, is no reason to dislike someone IMO.  Many out there hate on anyone that is not 100% invested in their tribe ( again not you I assume ).  Not me and that makes me a happy "free" man 🙂

BTW, thanks for not shouting your believes at me and calling me an idiot.  Shouldn't have to say that but well,,,  it is rare.

Yes I do admire his intellect & drive.  I admire his time-management too and the way he filters out noise.

His board has been widely criticised as being overly deferential to him.  Analysts and shareholder advocates have long claimed directors failed to provide meaningful checks on Musk's power. The board has been described as “self‑driving” under Musk’s control, rubber‑stamping his initiatives without adequate scrutiny Why Elon Musk’s ‘self-driving’ of Tesla’s board and its decision to pay him $56B collided with the law – and what happens next

I don't disagree with you that historically his execs have made it obvious they love the package and performance element of it.  I'm not sure how much that has changed now that he has claimed much of the performance pool and replacing it will probably dilute share options for performers.  Future exec turnover will answer that for both of us.

I'm not American so the fact he supports Trump is a minor irritation, it's not enough for me to dislike him, but enough for me to dislike his politics.

There is much to be admired about Musk, and a lot of shortcomings too.  If I had put down a deposit on a Tesla Roadster or bought a car in the UK with FSD I would be less than happy and would no doubt be part of the class action lawsuit against him.

People defending capitalism at all costs as though it's a perfect system.

Lots of Thais working 6 days a week, 12 hours a day for low wages.

You're defending this?

Capitalism didn't build this.   A weak government did.

Tell that to the Maga masses that are now depending on food aid!

They should totally refuse to eat!

Oh no! Social food!

You need to understand what socialism means before engaging in a a discussion about socialism.   You came unarmed to this discussion.

"Elon Musk Says Money Will Stop Being Relevant in the Future"

Is this so very surprising?

After all, one not need be a ROCKET-SCIENTIST to be able to predict the obvious.

There are very many things which will stop being relevant in the future.

The only question is:  How Far

Elon has also stated that:  Work Will Be Optional

And, he has said that work will become optional within the next two decades.

Still, my friend, Elon, has not considered that his statement about work becoming optional is patently FALSE.

For example, as we age, we realize that just getting out of bed in the morning is plenty of work, for most of us.

Elon's heart is in the right place.

Elon's every action is driven, primarily, by his great curiosity.

I very much admire EM, and I am not alone in my admiration for this great man.

Sometimes, it flabbergasts me just how much flak he attracts, and almost always for illogical reasons.

I guess...people have always been illogically suspicious of that which they are unable to understand, no matter how benevolent.

The dislike of the man might possibly have something to do with the lies and conspiracy theories he spreads via X and other media.

A social program is not socialism.   Socialism is where the people own the means of production.   Go read up on the topic.

socialism, social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members.

You did not respond to my question,do you have trouble understanding?

It's pretty easy for this numbskull to utter such a spectacularly ignorant statement being the richest man in the world. Why doesn't he try struggling to make a living and then talk about money?

Come now, Elon has known massive hardship. He had to share the Rolls Royce he went to school in with his brother. The horror! The horror!

I just look at what money has done to this freak, and all the others out there.

who wants a world like that.

Like someone recently said being a billionaire is actually a bad quality in a sense that it's proof of your lack of generosity, in reality billionaires have an enormous responsibility to give back to society, and yet can you name even two or three decent, noble or righteous billionaires?

The only one I can think of is Ted Turner, what he's done with that three million acre land comservancy is extraordinary, and will be remembered for generations. In my opinion he is a true American Hero.

Just a portion of the land that he has preserved for future generations:

New film, 'Preserved,' digs into history and conservation work at Ted Turner’s Vermejo Reserve west of Raton, New Mexico.
