NON-O visa annual renewal - how to show Bank account amount

Featured Replies

Hi, my question is for when they require to prove what is in your bank account *that* day.

SCB changed me to e-bank book, which is ok, but there's no way to prove whats in my bank account that day except on my phone.

Normally I get a bank statement the day before, but it only shows what's in my account up until 2 days prior to the day I actually go to renew.

Also does the bank statement need to be signed? Or can I just print from online? Because previously I was told it needs to be signed and stamped by the bank.

A bank, so I presume screenshots are blocked?

If you get the standard bank letter (not the statement) it shows the balance on the day it is issued.  At least that is the case with Kasikorn.  And yes, the bank statement needs to be signed/stamped by the bank.

My SCB is also an EZ savings account. This is an E-Passbook account, so no physical bankbook is issued as you mentioned.

Important:

Since there is no physical bankbook to update, the bank balance confirmation letter must be issued on the same day as the immigration appointment plus the 2 months statement required I get it issued on the same day.

I make a 1 baht transaction on the immigration day so the bank balance confirmation letter is greater than the 2 months statement as SCB's statement only shows the balance up to the end of the previous day.

Both accepted by Thai Immigration for my non O Extension Thai wife the past 3 years since switching from Krungsri.

Hope this helps

Ok so we have the same setup.

The issue I have is that there's no SCB in CW and then to get the Bank statement I need to out of CW to get the statement and bank balance.

so basically I get up and go bank first this takes me to around 10am usually because it's a slow process  by the staff, lots of questions etc , then I get to CW around 11am, get queue which is massively long, and there's basically no change of leaving CW before 6pm basically.

I was hoping there would be a better option so I can get into CW at 9am and get out before lunch ideally.

I went to SCB on Phaholyothin Rd, on the way (they open at 8:30 AM)

Got:

Official bank letter

Bank statement for two months

Cost: 200 THB

Then I was able to make my 10am online appointment that I made a month before, easy peazy out before 11am

Amazing, didn't know the online and booking system had come so far.

You can't be picky. Appointments are tight.

Insider tips: appointments are open up 30 days in advance and new slots open every day.

As soon as your window opens start looking and early each morning.

Not the system runs like clockwork.

You need be tad early.

You must make hard copy print out of appointment.

You do not go to que desk.

You go straight to L1 desk.

Doc check chick will check your paperwork.

Flash your appointment and she will attend to you.

Even found some new branches I can get stuff done in thats not CW!

No, you did not find some new branches.

You will use Chaeng Watthana.

The other branches are for specific things that you cannot use.  Laksi is for people on visa exempt.  One Bangkok is for BOI and work permit people.  There's another office that's only for Lao and Myanmar people getting work permits, etc.  It's not a pick and choose activity.

Posts are mixing up 'Bank branches' and 'Immigration offices'.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for all the information provided.

I have a question related to this topic. In my case I have an account in Kasikorn Bank but it has been moved from Chaengwattana to IT Square (Lake Si). The problem I see is that they open at 11:00am so my question is: can I get my bank statement 1 day before my extension or does it have to be done the same day as the extension?

If it is the second option, what do you recommend for those who have Kasikorn?

Many thanks in advance.

There is 3 things you require from bank

1. 12 month bank statement.

2. Bank Letter

3. Update bank book on day of application.

1 and 2 can be obtained up to 7 days prior to application.

3 is done on the day.

I also use Kasikorn.

The branches not located in malls have opening hrs 8.30 am (not all)

As well as the bank letter (which maybe 24 out of date)---go to the ATM and get a print out it will have to days date on it---that acceptable in Issan (which I know is a lot more casual then other places.

I would not recommend that plan.

As outlined by Tod Daniels in his first post in this thread attached.
