Suspicious transactions.

Featured Replies

I read that banks will be tightening controls on transactions they deem "suspicious." What are these? Are sending money to your children every week,  purchases online games, or monthly rent from abroad considered suspicious transactions? I'm asking those who know more than me what constitutes suspicious transactions. Thanks.

I would expect it's large amounts being transferred in or deposited and immediately transferred out i.e. money laundering. If you aren't a money launderer don't worry about it

I am not: thanks for the answer.

They're mostly after money mule activities where payments from 3rd parties are passed through your account.

That kind of account usage should be easy enough to distinguish from a regular bank client's transaction history. I think people most at risk for having their accounts flagged are those who use their personal accounts for business activities, for example by accepting QR code payments from many different individuals.
