Honda motorcycles for sale at way over suggested retail price

Featured Replies

I was looking at the Giorno+ 125, nice bike, better underseat storage than my 160 Click, fuel cap at the front not under seat, anyway dealers are charging 10k more than suggested honda price. Even Asia City Motors who have a good price on my Click gave a poor price on the Giorno.

Suggested retail price from 61,900, Mityon 71,000 all in, Asia City Motors 72,500

Demand and supply is it? or farang price?

I think you will miss the get up and go of the 160?

Honda dealerships have free reign to do this for at least the last 20 years.

One new model was released with a promoted price of 99,000. Adverts everywhere (rrp) 99,000!

The dealers in Bangkok all wanted 115-125,000.

At an expo the pretty promoter said 99,000 kha. I said I have 99,000 right here put me in contact with one dealer in Bangkok that will sell it to me for 99,000. She just nervously giggled.

I wonder if they do the same outside of the expat/tourist/hiso areas?

I compared Asia City Motors near Laem Chabang and Mityon in Pattaya and unusually Mityon was cheaper

I was thinking more along the lines of Outer Fish Shack a few hours north of Bangkok and south of Chiang Mai.  Pattaya and Laem Chabang are both on the Eastern industrial/tourism corridor.

That's not superior to Click 160 in any way, it's a downgrade..., smaller wheels and less power..., smaller scooter, designed for tiny Asian girls...! 😉

Try Aerox or ADV 150...

All. Only a tsmall amount of dealing were with dealerships in 'expat/tourist/hiso' areas.

Where did the OP say he wanted to "upgrade"?

Anything under 500cc is designed for tiny Asian girls, or people with little resources.

it's economics, no one's forcing you to buy. tbh, the clue may lie in the word 'suggested' 🤣

Would the price be 99,000 thb outside of BKK?

Search for dealers away from BKK and check out their price for cash.

You may well be able to save some money.

I don't need power I'm not a fat falang, superior in much bigger 30L under seat storage, takes a full face helmet, and fuel cap at the front, ideal when I'm carrying golf clubs on the seat

Only guys with small penises or low self esteem think that?🤔 I'm not normally rude but I do sometimes make an exception.

Let's not forget that when Moto GP decided to replace 250GP  and call it Moto2 they had to go to 600 4-stroke. The 250's are faster at all GP circuits. Not many ridden by Asian girls.

I have serveral bikes.

Yamaha XSR900.

Suzuki GSXR1000 - K2.

Suzuki GSX1300R - K8.

Ducati Scrambler 1100.

Yamaha Xerox 155.

The Xerox is great for runs to the 7/11 or bottle shop........ Iam not a tiny asian girl so must be a person with little resources.

Yeah OK for shopping under seat is important I use a Zoomer👍. Huge under seat; Giorno looks similar. Engine wise Giorno/Lead is about the same as a Click 125 but 4-valve so a bit better breathing. Bung some 12 gram weights in (polygon ones will give slightly better ratio spread) and away you shop.

Unless of course you are a really big lad.

The Honda Lead 125i has more under seat space than the Giorno - 'er in doors has one - around Pattaya it's spot on tbh ...

I was looking at the Giorno +125 ABS a couple of weeks ago in Korat, the dealer wanted 77,000! From what I understand it's scarcity that's giving the Honda dealers more leeway to bump the price over the 66,000 RRP. I was considering the Giorno as an alternative to the Yamaha Grand Filano, similar style, has a couple of design features I like more and I generally prefer Honda (more dealerships and service centres mainly) but no way is 10,000+ better, the Grand Filano also being pitched at around the same RRP as the Giorno. I won't be looking to buy for another 8 months or so, maybe the supply chain issues will have eased by then, I def won't be paying 10K over RRP though.

The vlogger Ride4Kicks was saying the same in a recent video. That second hand Giornos were nearly the same price as new. What's so special about them? Vespa copy?

Vespa copy?

Hardly🤔

But I do agree that Vespas are overpriced here considering most are made in Vietnam.
