Actually, it makes no sense that they wouldn't just come out and say "Russia is a threat in the region". I'm pretty sure people would go along with it.

The problem you have missed is that many of the US oil refineries cannot process their own oil but are set up to refine the oil they have been importing for years from Venezuela. It is all about oil.

Trump doesn't want to confront Putin.

USA is threatening to enter Venezuela, Venezuela has connections with Russia and will help out.

Drugs has secondary influence (reason), BUT it is oil reserves and probably minerals. 

As Americans say "lets play ball", war between Russia and USA, fighting over Venezuela.

Anyone paying attention knows why Venezuela is being targeted. They've been a CIA globalist vassal state and enemy of America for decades.  This is the only "regime change" war the CIA didn't like, as this is their regime. It's not resources. It's much, much larger than that. Right now, the USA has in its custody, the head of Military Intelligence willing to expose how Hugo Chavez contracted to build Smartmatic, and how many global elections, including many US elections, have been stolen. The problem is the current regime in Venezuela. Get rid of them, and their crimes can be made public.

 

Again, there is a reason the CIA doesn't like this "regime change".  There are going to be treason charges a plenty coming after this operation. It may not be quick, and it will spill over to Venezuela's conspirators in the EU and the Vatican, (potentially destroying the EU and NATO) but it is coming. No coincidence Ukraine is heating up at the same time. It's all connected.

 

Edit: And almost forgot the crackdown on immigration in the USA. The immigrant crisis was necessary to give cover to the operation to root out operatives that have been implanted throughout the USA. This is a well planned military operation to free the USA of a diabolical plot to overthrow it from the inside.
