Unfortunately the Government collapsing put this on hold, hopefully it will get back on the table when the new Government is elected in February & fingers crossed we might see something Q2/Q3 2026.

In which case any change would be unlikely to come into force before the Thai tax year starting on 1 January 2027, I would have thought.

My home country gives, sadly, more respect to migrant foreigners than its own citizens. Its laws do not change every now and then and are truly enforced.

What rubbish.  In this case, "respect" relates to 'self-respect' of residents who are lawfully required to abide by the kingdom's laws - including Tax Laws.

Thai people don’t have much respect for Thai law because they know that they’re just nonsense made up by some self important loser who bribed his way into his job as a bureaucrat or politician.

Thailand is a country of men, not laws.

Bending over backward to follow every Thai law if it was holy scripture isn’t respectful it’s foolish and ignores the cultural and legal context of the country, in favor of an imaginary version that exists only in your mind.
