Mass Shooting Bondi Beach Sydney Australia

Featured Replies

Have any Muslim leaders come out and condemned the shootings?

I won't be holding my breath.

The situation in Australia has got to the stage that you can be arrested and possibly jailed for making a Nazi gesture or displaying a Nazi symbol or for any anti-Semitic actions,

yet from the time of the terror attack in Israel nobody has done much about the crowds chanting death to the Jews or gas the Jews.

Weak as p!ss politicians.

Maybe the Bra boys will do something.

  • Sadly, Australia can expect more of these shootings due to its immigration policy.    Back in the day we would only accept people who have quality credentials, lawyers, doctors etc, but now

  • Solid effort by the civvie to take down the shooter.... shoulda pumped a few rounds into him though.

Interestingly the MSM seem to be trying their hardest not to say that it was a targeted shooting. Paraphrasing there's a lot of "we do not know with certainty the motivation" and "shooting at beachgoers".

Australia's PM has defined the mass killings as a terrorist attack though at this stage it is unknown the Islamic ideology of the killers (was it a protest about Gaza, Islamist etc. Father and son are both Pakistani with father holding gun licence. Son was know to ASIO so why did father still hold a gun licence with six weapons? The member of public who tackled the son who was firing  a rifle is a Muslim and survived his gunshot wounds = outstanding bravery!

It is a pretty good bet that if the people targeted were attending a jewish themed event, even though it was open to all and secular, and if the victims were all jewish, including the sponsoring rabbi that it can be described as an attack on jewish people. (One police officer was also murdered.)

At the time when I posted , it hadn't yet been confirmed that it was an attack on the Jewish event .

As the thread title says , it had just been reported that a shooter had gone on the rampage in Sydney without naming the victims or targets

The genie has been out of the bottle for quite some time in Australia and it isn't going back in anytime soon. In the coming days we will see excuses made for the terrorists, and no one will ask why a society has become so violent that this type of event occurs. We will get the government tossing out more empty gestures on gun control as a means of offering a quick fix and reassuring people. It won't work. The moral compass of western society has been destroyed from within.

Two Rabis were shot. Fair indication that this wasn't indesciminate.

Son was an Australian born citizen. Father came on a student visa and then transferred to a spouse visa. Permanent resident but not a citizen.

Correct. You are an Islamophobe.

Why? Because  he pointed out the double standard?

Wow. The second post was an MSM conspiracy right off the bat - well done!

"The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the shooting and said it “reiterates its firm rejection of all forms of violence, terrorism and extremism, which contradict humanitarian values”."

No MSM conspiracy. At the time as I said they were shying right away from calling it a targetted terrorist attack even though at the time it was obvious.

Perhaps they don't guess like you do, they wait until they have the facts first, not your hang 'em high brigade...........:coffee1:

In my mind it would be like attacking a Christmas Celebration in a public place.  The symbolism may be against Christians, but the victims would also include Muslims, Jews and atheists.  In other words, FUBAR.

And how does this even happen with a father-son team?  Given that they (apparently) had legally registered firearms, I can't imagine that strict Aussie gun laws would allow "newcomers" to have them.  I suspect there will be more revealed as they look into their histories and police records.

Guessing you say. What was known at the time was there were 2 maybe 3 shooters, a Hanukkah celebration on the beach and people being shot dead. One doesn't need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out what was going on and indeed what did go on. There were also social media posts happening that said this was the case. As I say MSM, initially, wouldn't even use the term "possible targeted attack".

Reasonable gun policies of Australia didn't stop this one though did it. Too bad one of the people filming this firefight didn't have his own m4 in the trunk. Based on some of the video I've seen, easy kills on both of the terr scum. Lot of lives could have been saved if an armed civilian had been around

What gibberish is this?

- Are you seriously expecting govt policy to be 100% effective all of the time? Grow up.

- There are are approx 145 gun deaths/million n the US, vs 9/million in Australia. This "good guy with a gun" bs is very plainly the cause of many people losing their lives.

Well said. After Port Arthur the government took stern action and had the nation's support. (Yagoda thinking "government doing something - what's that?") And the gun death record since has been very low.

It seems gun ownership has slowly and steadily increased since then and now the government will probably take action again (Yagoda scratching his head).

And honestly, an American pro-gun nut job trying to criticse another country that DOESN'T HAVE MASS SHOOTINGS is just unbelievable.

America, the country where lightning mass shootings can strike twice. This poor girl has been shot in two mass shootings:

Not correct, it now turns out that he is Christian. He is from Syria and approximately 10% of the Syrian population is in fact Christian. It seems everybody just jumped to the assumption that he's a Muslim.

Gun laws aren't the main issue here. It's Islamist terror and a government that hasn't quashed anti-Semitism and has in a way been supportive of it in as much as allowing pro-Palestinian hate speech against Israel. There were even government  ministers walking in the 100,000 odd free Palestine march across Sydney Harbour  Bridge where people were shouting kill Israelis. Add to this the PM recognising Palestine as a state. These two had explosives so guns or not their mission was to kill Jews.
