Yonks ago, a young Dutch couple checked into my Phuket guesthouse, went into their guest room.  Drew back the curtains (the room had large sliding glass doors), and proceeded to 'ram' each other senseless, much to the surprise of the old guys sitting at the hotel bar.

It is a fairly common name, I know three Thais named Bas and my, very selective, circle of friends is not huge.
