At the rate the apps are developing and for the younger guys especially,  it will and might already be better than meeting women offline. 

 

Hard to imagine online apps today being comparable to meeting a beautiful woman while out doing whatever.  I was lucky to have lived before everything was online. The rush of the first  meeting is almost better than sex at times when in real life vs she looks and seems OK in her profile then methodically going through the online courting process.  Not saying the latter is worse, just different and I would rather not adapt.

Yes, and offering any kind of financial support to a woman is a "bad thing" and makes you a creep. And even if she isn't technically a prostitute, she is if you have to pay for anything.

You have to go for the ugly ones, who works in the Government, they have education, they have income, often no babies, or previous husbands, and they are dead boring and will never cheat or leave you ! Some is also good looking, but usually a bit more awkward behaviors. No sin sod, and if she will be happy to pay up for her self.

When you understand the dynamics in relationships, this is how it is unless you live in the west and find a woman who is working, and sharing cost with you. 

 

Very few western men finds a woman who are wealthy in Thailand who do not have some kind of responsibility to provide for her kids, parents or one way or the another.

But for some reason, there's a small army of guys on here who will fight to the death in a cage match and go into all kinds of contortions to try to convince you otherwise. Not sure why exactly. Still working on my psychology degree.

I'll help -joking.   They are just like you and want to feel unique and important.  Many actually believe that they are special and attract women that are seeking love with no financial underpinnings. It is the story they sell to everybody and are so lost in the story they can't see reality nor want to discover anything but their manly vision of themselves.  

 

There are some exceptions but 99.9% of posters here telling us about their relationship here in Thailand has nothing to with finances are silly.  They travelled across the globe as a single man and then somehow meet  a woman in usually in a few months that is pure and just want to be in a loving relationship. Whatever floats their boat...

 

As for me, I semi stumbled into a relationship where we both are financially secure.  If I was broke though, I would have never got past the first date even with all my charm 🙂

We where sitting in a group talking together, and one started to brag about his wife was self dependent and he never paid for anything, where his wife suddenly interrupt, and says, you paid for my son taxi, my other son university and motorbike, and the house we now sitting in you also paid for, and its in my name. She spoke Norwegian and had lived in Norway for more than 10 years. She obviously tired of him bragging, which indeed made her in her opinion losing face, that she wasn’t worth anything, and maybe also tired of him lying. She was an retired government worker, and also had been working in Norway for several years as well. 

 

But this is the situation for many who claims they never paid anything, they are hiding the truth about they actually also contributed, but see it as future investments instead of paying their wife. 

If you look closely at the profile pics on one of these dating sites,  many of them look like they have been digitally altered or created by AI . Some look like they've been lifted from magazines or other fashion/ glamour sites. Some don't even look Thai.  I just wonder how many genuine people there are on there . Chatting online to one of the " free " members,  it became apparent that they weren't who they claimed to be , and when I suggested we could meet , I was told this was not possible.

I get your meaning and your point, but the difficulty these days is sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Sometimes you think you are doing a good thing, only to find out they have twenty such scams underway, exploiting people's generosity.

As a side note and slightly off-topic, a classic case I saw online of a homeless guy in London who was earning 60-80GBP per day begging.

The guy interviewing him pointed out that, with a few weeks of careful budgeting, he could get himself off the street instead of heading straight to the off-license. His answer was, ' Easy come, easy go! '

Those days of dating apps are long gone since smart phones are out. Dating sites with genuine girls who were looking for man of their dreams. What left is only business women and ladyboys. You can find even better ones at local 7-11s, shopping malls, hospitals, immigration and ……
