Migrant Tragedy: 116 Feared Dead, Only One Survives!

A shocking loss in the Mediterranean! Over 100 migrants are believed dead after their boat sank en route to Europe from Libya, reports Sea Watch. Only one survivor emerged, rescued by a Tunisian fishing boat and taken to hospital.

The harrowing incident reportedly unfolded last week. The vessel sent an SOS shortly after leaving Libya, but Seabird aircraft failed to locate it, sparking immediate fears of a catastrophe.

Alarm Phone, a rescue hotline, received distress alerts at 2pm on December 19. The boat had departed from Zuwara the night before. Despite warnings, contacts via satellite phone were unsuccessful.

Days later, hope flickered when news of a possible survivor surfaced. A man claimed to be the sole survivor from the doomed vessel, describing the brutal weather conditions that struck hours after departure.

Efforts to verify his story continue, with Alarm Phone striving to reach him and the fishermen. Seabird’s aerial patrols found no trace of wreckage or survivors, deepening the mystery.

Key Takeaways

  • Over 100 migrants feared dead in maritime disaster.
  • Survivor’s rescue sparks hope amid devastation.
  • Urgent calls for improved migrant safety at sea.

So, you really think people who are not desperate for a better life for their families would be risking this. This isn't about bloody legal and illegal. It's about human beings.

  • All males of military age. No women, no children.

So what? Regardless, let's see stats. All migrants worldwide move and then the families follow.

And that's the problem right there.

I’ve spent most my life as a professional expat (aka economic migrant).

Almost all expats are young men of military age.

Why isn't the UK PM trying to pick these people up before it happened

And they enter having obtained a valid visa in advance, bring money into the local economy, add new skills and claim no benefits.

They mostly tend to adapt to the local culture rather than expecting the locals to adapt to their medieval beliefs.

Some very broad assumptions on your part.

And RT and Musk show us the result:

Approximately 72.9% of Brussels residents aged 0-17 are believed to have an immigrant background, Remix News reported earlier this week, citing data from StatBel, Belgium’s official statistics office. According to the report, only 10.56% in this age group are classified as Belgians of exclusively Belgian origin. Overall, 78% of the city’s population is now said to be of non-Belgian origin.

The Great Replacement Theory.  Another wingnut conspiracy that's proving to be true.

Like RT and Musk or hate them.  The article is worth reading.  Our advanced western cultures are being deliberately sabotaged.

They are economic migrants, or terrorists or looking for a free ride and easy sexual relations.

I think you mean Migrants. And as for your last sentence, I am an expat and certainly NOT of military age, as are most whom I know here.

I suppose I could join Dad's, or even Grandad's Army. 555

While you've obviously made up this information to feed into your bias - the void in information allows for this.

I wonder why the actual figures are rarely cited - for instance, the precise number of women, men, and children involved (for example, 53 women, 43 men, and 20 children.... numbers used illustratively here). The truth is, they likely do not know - but at least might have an 'idea'... rather than leave the void.

But if authorities did have definitive data - say, 116 males aged 18–40 - would that even be openly reported?

The opacity of reporting today has eroded trust, with much information filtered through a lens of political correctness or “woke” framing. Comments such as those made by BritMan may well reflect reality, even if mainstream reports obscure it.

As tragic as this situation is, I hope no women or children were involved. If it turns out the deceased were all men of so-called “military age” it is concerning.... but this does not automatically imply they were attempting to join armed forces.

The term “military age” is highly emotive and potentially misleading. A more accurate, neutral description would be “working age” which better reflects the likelihood that these individuals were travelling primarily in search of employment or economic opportunity, albeit illegally. The choice of terminology reveals a clear bias: “military age” suggests threat, while “working age” conveys a socio-economic reality.

I thought it was immigrants driving up house prices, or had that talking point been changed?

Well, illegal entry has its roll-of-the-dice issues and problems... have to accept/deal with it, even if it goes south. My suggestion is to do it legally.

Could just be a rumour. Or a plot to get some extra money for the "rescue ship industry". It is christmas after all and many people are getting soft when they hear a story about stuff like this. Would not be the first fabricated story in this regard.
