Anybody know of an owner of a cheap hostel/hotel that will let him checkin without ID or a passport with an expired visa?

When did your visa expire?

Few weeks ago.

You keep going on about you just want somewhere to sleep, I already told you on Page 1, go to a temple, you can talk to the monks or not talk to the monks, it doesn't matter, if you do talk to them they probably give you somewhere to sleep, even if you don't talk with them you'll find somewhere to curl up and sleep. All temples have some basic ablution blocks where you can go to the toilet and have a wash. There are many temples around and you may well find one where the monks would also give you some food. I believe in Thailand nobody can be refused shelter at a temple, unless it's some big super important temple.

I totally understand your point and suggestion. If it's the only solution I will look for it. Thank you.

OK, copy the passport and walk to a bunch of hostels in your area.  They have AC and lockers as well as curtains for privacy.  Not too bad.  See who will let you checkin for a few days with a copy of your passport.  Lots of hostels in your area for around 300-350 baht. Get their bank info and I can send the hostel money for 3 nights. Worry about days 4,5,6... later.  Once you start looking, I'm confident there will be ways to checkin without a passport.

Been a while but I remember there being some dive hotels in Pattaya.  Bet you could find a fan room for 300-400 baht and they aren't to strict about ID.

Do you have a job? How did you end up pennyless?

The little I had from a job I quit some time ago and from savings was taken away by divorce lawyers and various disputes. I've never been rich, but I've always managed to support my family and help my son grow up with autism.

They are required by law to photocopy your passport data and VISA pages at every counter transaction (since 6-9 months back).

They started doing this at SCB.

I was surprised I needed passport for a deposit, but have consistently required it in the last few months.

Asked to 2 hostels in the last hour. Both asked why I don't want to handle the passport. Not answer from me and I leave.

Usually just a picture of the front page is enough, no need for more, but they will send your pp information to immigration, but I do not think any alarm will tick off just by your pp information. They need to physically look it up, and that will at least take a week or even more.

Asked one more place but without passport won't let me in. For their safety (she told me both for immigration as they can be fined if not report my stay and in case there is some problem in the room).

2) I don't smoke, drink, or use drugs, so I don't need a lot of money until January: where can I sleep without  problems? Eating is relative. If I find help, fine. Otherwise, drinking water is fine.

I'm in Pattaya.

Yes. Really appreciate. Today gonna try more hostels and ask. If I will get the same answer, my only solution will be the temple.

Try some dive hotels. Fan rooms and maybe just give them your passport.  I wonder  if they will look or care about the looking for the visa.

I looked online for "dive hotels" but seems to me pretty expensive and better than hostels. I just typed "dive hotels Pattaya": I am doing right? And, again, thank you a lot for your effort and help. No matter if you will help or not, but won't forget what are you doing for me🙏

I already asked her and she said cannot. She was the first I asked. I even understand, as their son is not in good health and need oxygen and it is not cheap. But thanks for the suggestion.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but surely your own daughter wouldn't see you out on the street.

Dive hotels aren't online for many reasons.    Walk the sois in your area and ask around. Use Google translate.   Something positive will happen when you start being productive.  You deserve some luck and it probably isn't far away.

I wouldn't send money without meeting in person first.

Could be a fake story.

Still at home as she is not here but she will  back tomorrow morning.

Somewhere to sleep might be the least of your problems soon.

The IDC will provide açomodation.

Could be but oh well.  I'm not a saint or even close to it but we aren't talking huge money here and I assume others will chip in after a few days.  He will be at place that isn't extremely pleasant and his story starts to become more real.  Spending money at a nice restaurant tonight wouldn't be a pleasurable as helping someone.  In the end is is more about me 🙂  My wife can call the hotel or apartment to verify it is real place.

A room above soi 6 would do without documents lol.
