For those of you who use additional filter on the aircondition units, is this useable?

I know @KhunLA do, so nice if you could link your filter, or just confirm this is okay?

Good memory ... though we don't use them as planned. As Xiaomi purifiers & ACs keep the PM2.5 in the low single digits, even -0- most times. Even on the worse days of AQI 75-100 / PM2.5 @ 30+ µg/m³

We bought two inexpensive air purifiers from Lazada 5 years ago. I believe that they cost about 1,000 Baht each. There are no fancy AIQ meters on it. We didn't need it as we already have a hand-held

Air Purifiers work very well. They do the job for which they are intended. But they are not magic. They are just a sheet of filter material behind a fan, all enclosed in a fancy case, with a few butto

Most likely the fan inside the laser sensor unit, its a well known issue. People report fixing it with taking the sensor unit apart and giving the fan a squirt of WD40. I just ordered one - Air Purifier PM2.5 Laser Sensor for Xiaomi Air Purifier pro H /MAX /3c/3H /pro parts replacement.

I ordered it on Aliexpress but check Lazada and Shopee probably there to. Theres also youtube videos showing how to fix or replace.

There is no tags on it at all, How much was it ?

Got my second Xiaomi Elite, and will set it up in my gym, and compare air quality with the 3c.

Just about to build my "winter garden" at the balcony and place treadmill, ski erg and the tower up there. Going to be nice.

The comparison between elite and the older 3c run at the same time. The 3c had already run for an hour or so when I started the Elite.

Seems like bad air everywhere now. First we passed above 100 today

Not sure I understand, but yes, the filters needs to be changed. The app tells me I got 47 days left on the 3c before changing.

What do you not understand?

The unit I have now has a cleanable pre-filter, and the HEPA is supposed to only need changing every ten years. It's been 5-7 years and it's still good.

I am in the market for a few new units, and my concern is the ongoing cost of the filters. How long do the filters last, and how much do the replacements cost?

Do the units have a pre-filter? If so, how often do you need to clean them?

We have earlier models of Xiaomi purifiers (#1 & 2), and don't bother with the app. Bought 2 filters when buying second (#2 model), and rotated them as needed. 10+ yrs using and haven't bought new ones.

Do vacuum obvious dust build up off the filters, but that's it. Don't use the app, but idiot lights are all green, and stand alone PM2.5 meter shows low single digit AQI & PM2.5.

All depending on how much you use them, but the elite filters have a lifespan of 8 - 14 months, and the Xiaomi filters for Elite costs 1200+

Just ordered new formaldehyde filter for the 3c, and it cost me 900,- with shipping. No pre filter. These filters are not easy to clean. The old ones I did, but it is limited to a few times, before you lose effectiveness. It didn’t change anything in the app for lifespan of the filter. Im sure there is many ways to make other solutions and cheaper solutions.

I like the Daikins I have, but I need something with more flow.

The pre-filters on the Daikin just vacuum and or rinse off, like an AC filter.

How good are the XAP (Xiaomi Air Purifier) .... EXCELLENT

In the house now, just two XAP on, and the 2 air purifying ACs are off.

Area of 100m², two rooms with door open between them. Starting to warm up outside (28C), so time time to run the ACs, and knock the RH down.

Getting a reading of zero? Is that possible 🤨😁

apparently

Been running on high for past 3 hrs, now on auto, wife out in the garden, and we haven't cooked anything. Not early breakfast folks. Bathroom doors shut, so no toxic gases seeping out. House is buttoned up pretty good.

In bedroom (~20m²), and 5 mins since turning down from high to auto ... ACs still off, but will put on after submitting. Shows PM2.5 meter actually works coffee1

PM2.5 meter is about 4 meters away from XAP

@Hummin

And in the larger room, ~80m², XAP now on auto, for 5+ mins, AC still off, and meter showing ...

Air warming up, allowing the smog to rise up with it, as overnight is always the worst. Between the overnight burning & cool temps.

Now ... AQI @ 75 & PM2.5 @ 22 µg/m³ beats earlier @ 92 & 31

How does your meeters align with the air visual maps?

This is from I turn on and it is on auto mode, open the door, and then full blast

However I will make my winter garden now on my balcony. So this is the plan for February to make a day room/garden outside and get my toys up here instead of inside the cramped gym I got now.

Usually pretty close to each other. There three local monitoring stations. One at Ao Noi, "CharoenLaph Pier", near the larger trolling boat pier & ice factory, so maybe a bit higher than normal. Then one out by us, < 2 kms away, which is usually a bit lower than pier area.

Supposedly another in town, over by RR station, that I just learned of today: "Prachuap Khiri Khan Gaia Station 10"

We got the glass "window door" door company to come and estimate how much it would cost us to glass in parts of our balcony, and also use window and doors to close the whole balcony of 40m2

30 000,- for the work doors and windows included, while we bought the rest which cost us 4 500,- so far, so done deal and they starting today.

And in right time, since today we can't see the mountains even, and my bronchitis is worsening. Also ordered 10kw solar power, and 2x15kw batteries, and hope to get that up as quick as possible as well.

Most every big contract I was involved with when I was working included liquidated damages.

We produced made-to-order HVAC products to contractors, and they need it when they need it. You provide a delivery date, and the clock starts ticking once they issue the PO.

We are getting there, so complete with material and work close to 40k. Not western standard, but it is ok for the price.
