Korat Immigration. 12 months bank statements now required.

Featured Replies

My understanding is local Bangkok Bank branches can only produce 6 months of statements on request. Does anyone have experience of Korat Immigration accepting the most recent 6 months printed on the day of application, and the previous 6 months some days before? I'm sure Immigration realises it can't be done on the same day, but their instructions do state everything should be dated as the day of application.

Any recent actual experience would be greatly appreciated.

With online banking you can print off as many previous bank statements as you like there and then. But of course this is for 1st World countries not 10th World countries. 🤣😂

No his issue is that while banks can provide 12 month bank statement on the spot BBL cannot. Normal that not a problem as statements letter etc should be accepted up to 7 days to application. Korat

I did my retirement extension at kalasin in December. I know it's not korat.

I used to wait until the last day so I could show I had been compliant with the bank, but imm said do it up to a month ahead incase of problems, so you can renew your extension up to 1 month ahead, so should have time to get the bank sorted.

I realise korat imm may be different.

Korat want the statement on day of application. Just another crackpot immigration office.

Problem if you use BBL.

Regards when to apply for extension.

Never leave it till last day. Your 12 months is added to expiry not started from date of application.

Up to 30 days early at most offices

Thanks for these replies. Just to clarify exactly what my problem is, I am being told I need to provide bank statements for the past 12 months. Previously, only 6 months statements were needed. Bangkok Bank were able to produce these on demand on the day of application, so I would go to the bank first, update my bankbook etc. and leave with everything I and Immigration needed. Now however it will not be possible to obtain the full 12 months statements on the day of application. I will be able to request the first 6 months of the year statements to be mailed to me, but I am seeking clarification as to whether or not Immigration will understand and accept this. I am not sure how long this 12 month requirement has been in place, but if anyone has already experienced this, I would greatly appreciate an update.

I have read reports of BBL customers obtaining a 6month statement for first 6 months of extension then another 6 month statement on the spot day of application.

Personally I would obtain the 12 month statement days prior to application and also a short statement on day of application.

That goodness I don't use that Bank or immigration office.

IGCKorat are you using the 800,000 banked method or the monthly 65,000 method to meet the financial requirements?

My reason for asking is that my own extension falls due in April and while a 6 months statement has been acceptable in previous years your original post suggests this may have altered.

Unless things have changed for 2026 that is NOT the case, i do my retirement visa extension in Korat and have done so for many years, i do the 65K monthly pension income. I apply to my local BBL branch 7 days prior to my IO appointment for the 12 month statement and go along to pick it up before attending my IO.

I've never had any problems with Korat IO doing this arrangement UNLESS things have now changed.

Not surprisingly i have decided this year (my extension is due on 22nd January) to dispense with Thai Immigrations BS bureaucratic nonsense and use an agent. I have applied and have received my extension.

Job done and i'm happy.......

I am using 800,000 method held in a Bangkok Bank account. I picked up the application forms yesterday while doing a 90 day report. I have attached a pic of the revised "Documents from the Bank" slip provided. You can see item 2 now shows 12 months statements are required. In previous years, this was only 6 months. In bold underlined print at the bottom, is the requirement for all documents to be issued on the same day as the extension application. Therein lays the problem.

Immigration request for same day bank docs is ridiculous.

Nonetheless guess they make the rules.

Perhaps a 12 Statment obtained few days prior to application and in addition a statement for one month obtained on day of application might be an option.

Bangkok Bank statements issued on the spot can be >up to< 6 months back.

But you can request exact start day. End date will always be the day before.

So it's possible to seamlessly cover any period.

(still a bit awkward compared to simply cover calendar months)

Easiest for 12 months with three statements. Last one obtained on date of application.

100 Baht each.

So make a 1PM appointment online with immigration, 7 days prior to that date request the 12-month statement.

Use the BBL branch close to immigration, same side of Hwy 204 about 1km north of HomePro. Have used that branch last 3 years, arrive around 10:30. Never more than a couple other customers in the branch at that time, 6-month statement takes 5 minutes. Plenty of parking in the compound under the building.

This is assuming the 12-month statement can be stamped with the day's date when picked up, and you have no transactions on the account since the request. BBL can update your passbook without the small deposit required at other banks.

does Non-O extension based on having a Thai child also requires to 12 months bank statement?

No, because this extension does not require funds to be in your account for 12 months.

How long do the funds have to be in the bank and is the bank statement sufficiënt for this period and how much is required; I guess 400k

Does this apply to korat immigration Office ?

I also bank with BBL and my extension is due end of January so in early December I get a 12 month statement covering up to 1 December and then on the day I go to the BBL branch and get the guarantee letter and a current statement from 1 Dec. No problem with immigration (Prachinburi) doing it like this for the last few years.

I have had my BBL account for many years and prior to the LTR did the monthly deposits once the embassy ceased to provide a letter. I neve had any problem, doing my yearly extension of stay in CM but if that immigration office decided to change to the same procedure as Korat with banking documents due on the same date of applying for an extension, I would advise BBL of that change and if they could not provide me what I would need for the extension then I would advise them that I would open an account at a different bank that could provide the necessary dated documents and then cancel my BBL account. My bank always knew what was needed by immigration and advised me each year what I needed and was always correct and never had any problems at all. Now of course for my foreseeable future, I don't concern myself with these issues but I do wish you luck in getting some kind of satisfaction either through the immigration or banking folks.

Congratulations to that man, he gets the prize! It's all about the money, and commissions.

You can get a 12 month statement immediately and sent via email by using app - maybe with two 6 month statements from bank direct can show they match up ?

But it has been reported in another thread that BBL-branches will not sign/approve a self-printed statement reveived by E-mail. However, you can order a 12-month statement in a branch – at least in the BBL-branch I use – and pick it up a signed print by the branch about a week (I think it is 5 bank days) later, which might work together with a "same day" last 6 months signed bank statement.

The wife called to get some info today, the Korat office has a new BOSS.

They can produce a 12 month statement but it takes 3-5 working days, so just go in early and request a 12 month statement. I use two six months statements with no problem, but I am in Rayong

I always got 12 months in Bangkok for immigration. No problem to get it done.

That is a potential solution I've considered using for the first time after a potential problem popped up in recent threads concerning the validated 65k income letters and international transfers..

But it is only one of several options for me. And so far I've steered clear of agents. I'm also uncomfortable with the idea of using them if immigration effectively coerces me into it. Just a matter of principle.

Now i've always got my statement (65K income) up to January so it shows my January international transfer as my extension is due on the 22nd Jan. I did'nt want to give Korat IO any reason to not accept my BBL statement.

I have been using online banking for 17 years but when I tried to use statements from online banking immigration refused to accept them, said they had to be printed and stamped at the bank.

I expect to run into a similar problem... The Belgian embassy now requires us to sign our documents in person, not by mail anymore. Some brilliant civil servants came to this good idea having a 73 years old man commuting from Loei to Bangkok, with all the burden of an embassy appointment. My pension is transferred to my Siam Commercial Bank account, and there's no branch in Chiang Khan, immigration office for Loei province. My visa expires on Feb 22nd, I'm going to see with immigration what I need to do.

I assume from the comments that the bank statements have the day of issue on them rather than just listing the transactions for that month .Seems strange to do this ?
