Renew TM30 for retirement visa if not moved?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have existing TM30 and am due for a retirement visa renewal in Chonburi Immigration

Do I need to get the TM30 re-issued from landlord or is my existing slip valid for visa application. I have not moved properties.

You are most likely good to go.

In reality TM30 is not required for annual extension.

However some immigration offices require this and that..

I deal with CW and every annual extension I request my condo to provide a TM30.

Suggest you do likewise.

I had a TM30 from Chonburi Immigration (Jomtien). I had not moved. The TM30 was 8 months old. I had been in and out of Thailand once during that 8 months. I required a certificate of residence (unexpectedly).

I was told my TM30 was "too old". This was despite the address not changing and the permission to stay being based on the same multi-entry visa (DTV). I was fined 1600 Baht for a late TM30. This then allowed me to proceed to the Certificate of Residence desk to pay 300 Baht (unreceipted) for a certificate of residence.

When I pointed out it was the same visa and the same address, the TM30 desk said that because the visa was not issued by Chonburi Immigration the fine was correct. The visa was issued by the MFA (London embassy).

Don't follow immigration explanation.

First up immigration cannot issued you a METV or DTV visa.

Nothing surprises me with Chonburi immigration.
