Emergency rescue workers in Pattaya were called to assist a 54-year-old man after a metal ring became lodged at the base of his genitals, causing swelling and inflammation that required urgent medical intervention. The incident took place on Sunday, 1 February 2026, at Pattaya Patmakun Hospital, where staff requested specialist support and equipment from local rescue services. The ring was successfully removed without further reported complications.

According to details released by rescue officials, the patient had inserted a metal ring around the base of his genital area, leading to severe swelling that could not be resolved without mechanical assistance. Hospital staff assessed the condition and determined that cutting the ring was necessary to prevent further injury. They contacted the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Foundation for support.

Mr Jeerasak Nutlek, head of rescue operations at the Bang Lamung point of the foundation, attended the hospital with a Dremel cordless rotary tool. Rescuers first inserted a thin metal plate between the ring and the patient’s skin to prevent accidental injury during the cutting process. Water was continuously applied to reduce heat generated by the cutting.

The cutting operation took approximately ten minutes to complete, after which the metal ring was safely removed. Medical staff continued to monitor the patient following the procedure, with no additional details released about his recovery. The case was described as a high-risk situation due to the potential for tissue damage if delays had occurred.

Mr Jeerasak later said the incident should serve as a warning to teenagers and members of the public who may follow misguided beliefs involving the use of objects on intimate body parts. He stated that this was not the first such case handled by rescue workers, noting that swelling commonly occurs in similar incidents. He urged people to think carefully before attempting practices that could lead to serious harm.

Naewna reported that rescue officials indicated that they will continue to respond to similar emergencies when requested by medical facilities. They also reiterated the importance of seeking immediate medical help rather than attempting self-removal in such situations.

When curiosity, confidence and metal meet, the outcome can be a real balls-up. Credit to the rescue team for "handling" a delicate situation with professionalism — and presumably a straight face!

Aren't such c--k rings sex toys and thus illegal under the wisdom of the Thai morality laws?

That is why you should only get those sorts of rings made of jade. In a 'pinch' you can break it off...

So long as you don't play with it, no. Perhaps it was a wedding ring

Wow, just wow. Can you imagine the level of desperation that would drive a man to do something like this? I immediately wondered how they were going to protect his member, what an incredibly embarrassing situation to find yourself in.

I guess the moral to this story is never behave in such a way that you have to end up in a situation where power tools are used to operate in very close proximity to your package.

Almost on a daily basis people are constantly proving Darwin's theories over and over again. It takes a certain amount of wisdom, intelligence and common sense to thrive and survive in this world these days. Some have it and some don't.

Omg. I can imagine if the hammer or "heavy object" slips. That would be a sort of Darwin Award as you would have removed yourself from the gene pool without killing yourself.

Since when was a Dremel 'specialist equipment' 😂

And you have to love the specialist support guy's name: "Mr Jeerasak Nutlek".

If only the report had mis-identified him as Mr 'Jeeralek Nutsak' [which would be doubly appropriate since 'jeer lek' can translate as 'grind metal].

I'd get out more, but I'm still learning new tricks with my Dremel.

It's so funny when you stumble upon stuff like these rings, penis pumps, anal plugs and whatever on Lazada(!) and read the workaround descriptions 🤣

Of course off the shelf at Pattaya beach rd. Silly overpriced.

I noticed that as well!

But I do have a question probably for a Thai lawyer.

If those vendors are eventually busted, will they go after their customers as well?

Asking for a friend 55555.

If push-comes-to-shove tell your friend to hide out in Boyztown - they'll never find him.

Cute but they send to a specific name and address.

I actually think it's an interesting legal question and not only about sex toys really.

Not a sex toy.

It was a birth control amulet.

I can’t imagine how embarrassing it would be to call for EMS over this device.
