Sometimes a beating is needed to teach people right from wrong. The West's answer to disrespectful behaviour is a slap on the wrist, this doesn't work.

Typical Thai fighting... many to one. THais can't fight man to man it is always 2 , 3 or more against one victim. And this dispute could not be fixed by talking?? Violence is normal in land of smiles.

You're preaching to the wrong person, Pastor. Are you one of those Jehovah's Witnesses who knocked on my door on the weekend?

LOL....damned if I'm going to get my teeth kicked in and a few broken ribs trying to rescue some drunk clown tourist who hasn't got a clue how to behave (and survive) in Thailand's bars and nightlife areas.

I few years back, I saw a Brit try to interfere in a fight between two Ladyboys in Bangkok, even after I shouted at him to go away. It wasnt pretty.

Police Question Pattaya Beer Bar Guards After Tourist Brawl

Police in Pattaya have questioned four security guards from a beer bar following a widely shared video showing a violent confrontation with a foreign tourist, raising renewed concerns about safety. The incident left the tourist injured and triggered intense public scrutiny online.

The clash took place outside the Secret Garden Bar on Pattaya Soi 6. Footage circulating on social media shows a group of guards restraining and assaulting a tourist, prompting criticism over the use of force and conduct of private security staff.

On 3 February at 10.40am, Mr Marcus Turner, a 31-year-old American national, formally lodged a complaint with investigators at Pattaya City Police Station. He stated that he entered the bar on 2 February at around 6.00pm and later became involved in an argument with security staff at about 7.00pm.

According to Mr Turner, approximately five guards then assaulted him, punching and kicking his face and body, causing injuries. He said he decided to pursue legal action against those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.

Later the same day at 3.30pm, Pattaya City Police investigators brought four guards in for questioning and background checks. They were identified as Mr Thanwa, also known as Sua, aged 30; Mr Kwanchaai, also known as Kwan, aged 43; Mr Kanokchai, also known as JJ, aged 22; and Mr Watchara, aged 38.

They were accompanied by Mr Techatwit, aged 49, the head of security at the bar, who presented the guards to police after the video emerged. Officers said the questioning was part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation. Both sides then meet, without an resolution.

Mr Thanwa, one of the guards seen in the footage, later told reporters that the dispute began over a payment issue inside the bar. He claimed the tourist attempted to leave without settling the bill and became violent when guards tried to stop him and bring him back to talk.

He acknowledged that the images shared online could lead to public misunderstanding and negatively affect the reputation of the venue. Police have yet to announce any charges, stating that statements from both sides will be considered alongside video evidence.

Investigators are expected to continue gathering evidence and reviewing the footage before determining further legal action. The case remains under active review.

Key Takeaways

• Police questioned four Pattaya beer bar guards after a tourist was injured in a public altercation.

• An American tourist has filed a formal complaint, while guards claim the dispute began over unpaid charges.

Absolutely, brothels should be eradicated and family entertainment (Disney, Universal, etc) projects be initiated. But sadly T.I.T.

Why do you seek to change things and make the place the same as about anyplace else in the world? It does well because it is 'different'.

The post I was replying to and directed at was a comment more general than soi 6.

I am not a fan of the soi 6 myself, as it is a rip off aimed at the tourists, but it is part of what Pattaya is, and boy oh boy, it is a survivor. Stupid things like a Ferris wheel and rusty old airplane aren't what the tourists come to see, now that is lipstick on a pig!

Meant an Asian version of something like this:

Orlando, the "Theme Park Capital of the World," features four main resort areas:

Walt Disney World Resort (Magic, Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood ,StudiosAnimal Kingdom)

Universal Orlando Resort (Studios, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe)

SeaWorld Orlando (featuring Aquatica)

LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

These parks offer world-class roller coasters, immersive themed lands like Harry Potter and Star Wars, family-friendly attractions, and water parks.

Other Popular Attractions

  • Gatorland: A 110-acre park focusing on alligator shows and wildlife.

  • ICON Park: Located on International Drive, featuring a large observation wheel.

  • Discovery Cove: An all-inclusive day resort for swimming with dolphins and snorkeling.

Water Parks
In addition to the theme parks, Orlando is home to several major water parks, including Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, Universal's Volcano Bay and Aquatica.

Yes for sure, wearing no shirt is a big nono. There's actually an old law prohibiting people from not wearing a shirt so the police could charge the tourists if they wanted.

Thank you. I was at a Walking Street establishment one night and the well went a little dry. One of the girls escorted me to a nearby ATM where I withdrew what I needed to continue the night there. No drama, no problems, and we all had a wonderful, memorable night.

Had the same scenario in Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok. Paid up after visiting ATM and no problems, no drama. In Pattaya whilst visiting a bar i go to maybe once a year i ran up a sizeable bill then found my wallet had either been lost or stolen. They let me come back the next night with the money. If you behave like an ass, you'll be treated like an ass!

You and others on here seem to spend an inordinate amount of time criticising everything in Thailand. But how do you and the rest of the hypocrites square the behaviour of the American government with your quaint ideas of fair play when fighting? Isn’t threatening a tiny nation like Greenland exactly the type of many-on-one scenario that you claim to despise? Too many whining self-entitled whites on this forum who have a convenient blind spot when it comes to the behaviour of their own governments and people. Quite vomit-inducing for anyone with a working moral compass.

The same behavioral patterns appear across anonymous public forums—are we supposed to believe they’re all Thai nationals?

Brilliant analysis. But once again, we all are human, although we forget it so frequently.

I am not American and I am not a Trump fan too.. the man should be impeached as soon as possible.. And I don't critize everything.

We call that in the Western world discuss.. That is unknown in Thailand. When I was teaching here in Thailand we talked about things that happened in classroom or about idea's for an English Camp the head of the EP always told us that we should not complain so much... Thai people are used to hear what they have to do and will follow like sheep, but Westerns have their own opinion. Not everything is critics

Not all Westerns are afraid to get tanned, Thai people are afraid to get tanned, as they are being brainwashed that you have to be as white as possible. Tanned or black is even in schools ugly.... Westerns like black or being tanned as in their country most of the time they have less sunshine.. Maybe all comment to wear a shirt is maybe start being interested in other cultures, there is more than only Thailand

Too many foreigners come to Thailand thinking they are almost gods and can do anything they want.

The purpose of a fight is to win. There are no heavyweight boxers here so getting the guy on the floor and giving him a kicking is the only way to win.

Hope these guys lose their lousy job and a get a few weeks of jail time.

Surely one has to admit that a five "staff" beating and kicking a single customer for an alleged unpaid bill shows a stratospheric level of culpable incompetence.
