Probably the only person on earth who you could stay with and even then only on Mars!

Easy to generalize with the elderly. Most of them are too sick to do anything except exist for another day.

Musk has a high IQ. Yours is low. Plus he's interesting and you are boring.

How do you communicate effectively to Musk on Mars as you seem to be incapable of doing so to anyone else down here on earth?

Yep true. 10yos think 35 is old.

You should certainly have personal knowledge of that statement seeing that your "posting age" seems to be about 10 years old!

Yeah...but.....

Daily Friction, the good kind, is HIGH in Pattaya.

This is why some select group of Foreigners go there, in the first place.

Please, though...

Do not report me.

I am NOT a troll.

And, everybody knows it.

Hopefully that will take the air out of your false believes. This time it was actually a good OP in a post.

How much excitement and enthusiasm do people over 60 normally have?

I'm fairly excited by cycling every day, 35Km yesterday, 15Km today, planned 25Km tomorrow ........ but that's about it for me.

Sounds like a plan.

I get enthusiasm from waking pre dawn, with a cuppa watching & listening to the day develop in the wifeys village.

Simple yet fulfilling while the Thai family snooze on.🙃🙃

Strikes me that for some reason not stated, the OP has severely overthought this.🙃🙃

Many views and opinions here. But one can boil it down to the essential:

DON'T RUN OUT OF MONEY IN THAILAND DURING RETIREMENT.

Outside of "health problems" everything in Thailand can be "settled/resolved" just as long as one has enough money to "smooth-over" daily/monthly/yearly challenges that a Farang faces routinely in Thailand.

Most retirees will not run out of money as long they do not do stupid stuff!?

Easiest country to retire in the world if you are on budget, but if you got expensive habits, it can end up be one of the worst.

Yes Sir. Right on. Rumor has it that one of the most expensive habits have something to do with "ladies". Could this be true?

In combination with bad judgement, I would say, yes

No different than any other country, worlddwide. Thailand no different.

Agree, but some European countries have better social security than many other countries if you made a mistake, you are secured.

That seems to be somewhat obvious given the gibberish that you now spout forth on a seemingly continuous basis!

"Don't run out of money in (fill in country name) during retirement" - applies everywhere.

I honestly wonder how much longer it will be before his reputation score slips into negative digits. If he keeps flooding the forum with the same bitter, hostile, and embarrassing rants, like that topic he just posted and watched get removed almost instantly, it feels inevitable. It is hard to imagine a more bleak situation. This place is not just a hobby for him. It is his entire existence. There is nothing else of weight or meaning in his life beyond this hollow echo chamber of usernames tolerating him out of boredom, habit and maybe even pity.

The idea that even here, the only place he pours nearly every waking hour into, he is steadily losing his last remaining bit of approval is brutal. This is the one thing he clings to, the one arena where he tries to feel seen or validated, and it is slowly rejecting him. No respect, no recognition, no sense of worth. Just a public score ticking downward, quietly confirming what everyone already knows. For someone who spends three quarters of his day chasing relevance in this imaginary world, watching it offer him nothing in return must be utterly devastating.

True enough and avoid toxic people. If they are left wing walk away. Normal lefties probably dont post here.

Yes.

And so....

I was merely stating the obvious...

As you have rightly observed.

My mom literally ran out of money and in her 70's lives quite happily in a house paid for by the UK government. Warm house always, kitchen always full of good food, runs a car, has 2 dogs always going to the vet. Various digital subscriptions.

I guess you're not from the UK. Lol

Sounds like UK pensioners have it better than Australian pensioners!!!.

I think it's around $1100 a fortnight in Australia and pay $5 for each prescription and free in the Uk

$2.50 a day for public transport in Australia and free in the UK , I think better to go to UK !!!

That's why the income taxes are so high and taxes for everything else.

Most lower end earners in the USA only pay about 2.3% income tax. Less taxes paid more money in the pocket, chances are they might not run out of money when they get older.

If they do, they get subsidized housing healthcare and food also.

The most important thing is to be happy with yourself then it doesn't matter where you are.

Personally I love Thailand
