Report Marriage Visa Extension @ Chaeng Watthana (needed updated TM30)

Featured Replies

Marriage Visa Extension at Chaeng Watthana Report.

This year they pointed out I had a more recent TM30 logged with a different address and need to log my home address again. This was from a Hotel we stayed at in October 2024. Oddly, I got my extension in 2025 without this being flagged, so I guess it just depends if the IO notices it.

We had to pop upstairs to log our home address again. This was easy as Wife is the landlord and we had all docs on us for Visa, but if we rented, this would have likely caused us to have to come back another day and apply again.

So worth noting, always ensure to get an updated TM30 if you have stayed in any hotels, resorts, etc since you last logged one.

Docs Supplied:

  • TM7 filled in Application form (They told me it was a new form this year, but I checked and it was identical to this one I had printed out, so just used that)

    • plus the other forms they give you there

  • 2 recent Photos 4 x 6 (they gave 1 back, only 1 is needed it seems)

  • Bank statements showing 400k for past 2 months (From the bank, not self printed)

  • Letter From Bank confirming bank statements are real

  • Updated Bank Book (need to make a deposit on day of application, then use the machine to print the update in the bank book)

    • 1 x Copies of Updated Bank Book

  • My Passport

    • 1 x copies of photo page and every page with stamp on

  • Print out of TDAC (Official Thailand Digital Arrival Card) - Replaces old tm6

  • Receipt of 90 day report (TM47)

  • TM30

  • Marriage certificates (Kor Ror 3)

    • 1 x Copy (this year and previous year they gave me the copy back, where as all other copies they keep. So not sure if actually needed. Best to include)

  • 2 x Up to Date Kor Ror 2 marriage registry (proof still married)

  • Wife's Blue Book

    • 1 x copy of every page with info on

  • Wife's ID Card

    • 1 x copy

  • Child's Birth certificate (Previous year I didn't include this and luckily had a copy on email they accepted)

    • 1 x copy

  • 5 x Photos around Home - Close up pointing to house number, one further back with view of entire house, one sitting on bed, one in kitchen, one in living room. (Print out 2 per page of A4, landscape)

  • 2 x hand drawn map to home (I trace Google map printouts for these!)

    • one of immediate area (mooban and main road)

    • another of larger area showing main roads, major landmarks, etc.

  • Title Deed for Home

    • 1 x copy

Thanks for very clear detailed report.

I also deal with CW.

In recent years have obtained TM30 just prior to day of applying for extension.

Years prior I never even provided a TM30.

Different thought on some items on your list.

You shouldn't require copy of all pages of pp with stamps.

The Letter from bank does not concern validity of bank statement but rather confirms you as owner of account and balance at time of issue.

TM47 should not be required..

Re map just residence to main road sufficient.

Back the kitchen sink is good policy.

Thanks.

I made my 'master list' of docs a few years ago based on 3 other lists/reports from CW.

They seem to keep all the copies of Passport, TM47 and maps I provide, (only giving me back copy of Marriage certificate), so I'll continue to provide those.

First few extensions few years ago I supplied 2 x copies of everything (as recommended in reports). They always gave me the 2nd copies back, so I only supply 1 copy now. I think 2 x copies may be for Immigration offices in other provinces.

Also worth noting that I have a reminder to start preparing my application and book appointment 1 month early. However this year, when I went to make an appointment it was fully booked up for month and a half, going past my visa date. So I had to just turn up and take a ticket.

Number 163 at 6.30am

I'll set a reminder 2 months early next year.

Just remembered another thing. Photo I used for application was the same as previous year (maybe also few years before that!).

The IO questioned me if it was the same photo. Not sure if she could see the previous one on screen, or if i just looked older!

I kind of skirting around it and she didn't seem to bothered about it. Worth noting for future applications, always get updated photos in case you get a job worth IO that day.

A previous year I didn't hand them the receipt of TM47 and they then specifically asked for it.

Luckily, I keep it in my Passport cover, so I easily provided it.

Appointment window is only 30 days.

A new day is added every start of each day.

CW has extension window open 45 days prior to expiry of current stamp.

Look at available appointments as soon as your window opens and check early each day.

They have sharp eyes. Last year my IO noticed that one of my house photos was the same as the previous year. I had several extras so she let it slide.

Do they ask for this, or do you just provide it because you consider it relevant?

Thanks for that.

What about the new STM10 form? Was it signed by a witness? Did you provide a photocopy of their ID card?

I found this listed on some other lists when I first started doing Marriage extensions 5 or so years ago. They accept the photo copies and have never said don't bother with it, so I'll continue to provide it.

The Mrs fills this in, didn't get a witness to sign it past few years we had to fill it in.

Perhaps the IO signs it as the witness? They never mention it.
