Had to share this beautiful remix by Sin Plomo.

Excellent chill out tune man.

Thought I could hear waves washing ashore, leaves rustling in a breeze and the gentle purr of a contented kitten...

Sin Plomo rings a bell or two, mmmm....

Acid House music began when musicians discovered that they could create interesting sounds with the Roland TB-303 analogue bass synthesizer by tweaking the resonance and frequency cut-off dials as they played. The term “acid” was used in Chicago at the time as a term for the squelchy “acid” sounds of such bass synthesizers such as the TB-303. It is said the first recordings were created by DJ Pierre, Spanky and Herbert J who formed “Phuture”.

“Phuture was me and two other guys, Spanky and Herbert J.” remembers Pierre. “We had this Roland 303, which was a bassline machine, and we were trying to figure out how to use it. When we switched it on, that acid sound was already in it and we liked the sound of it so we decided to add some drums and make a track with it. We gave it to Ron Hardy who started playing it straight away. In fact, the first time he played it, he played it four times in one night! The first time people were like, ‘what the ###### is this?’ but by the fourth they loved it. Then I started to hear that Ron was playing some new thing they were calling ‘Ron Hardy’s Acid Trax’, and everybody thought it was something he’d made himself. Eventually we found out that it was our track so we called it ‘Acid Trax’. I think we may have made it as early as 1985, but Ron was playing it for a long time before it came out.”

Could be the Berlin Love Parade (morning after fallout remix) not exactly the main event tho' could be they're lost!

Don't worry the Viking has got it all under control... :D

Actually he is pretty awesome. Looks to be a gentle giant too the way he told off the guy for bumping into that girl. Couldnt help watching i several times and will probably watch it from time to time many more times lol! He almost doesnt look real..like some character from Tekken.

Anyway...sorry for making you guys thread sloppy with my random comments.

If I remember right, there was the 303, 606 and the most excellent 808 drum machine....! :o

You really like that guy eh...? Unfortunately the link isn't working....

i dont really like him..not in any attraction sense at least. Hes just kinda bizarre looking. link works fine for me. :o(.. its a quicktime movie..so that needs to be installed on your comp. If the link is opened with ff, then if i recall right ff will give you a quicktime download link.

Tried to start a music thread in the ladies forum but they are all a bunch of softies so I'm sticking with the Happiest Ever Thread in Bedlam :D:o

Arnold Jarvis - Take Some Time Out

a real classic from '87 (20 years ago :o )

great lyrics, great voice, something soulful to dance into the early hours.

I got this write up off Discogs;

Arnold Jarvis

This is one of the most under rated voices to contribute to the dance music family. Arnold has one of them voices that will help heal you when you're down. Although there has been attempt to cross this artist over, still the best work by Arnold is his underground cuts. 'Take some time out' is the song that entered him as a legion to dance. But it wasn't until Frankie Knuckles & David Morales brought him on board to do 'And I loved you' & 'Tears' that made this vocal guru a house hold name. This voice will last a lifetime and with many project to his credits Arnold has a voice and talent that should be added to any generation of music. This voice is for the deep and those who have an understanding for songs, not just tracks. Again, this is Garage & House best-kept secret.

Have a nice, peaceful and soulful weekend. :D

I recommend this great mix to download, I'm not sure who the DJ is (a.k.a. Jerome Hill perhaps), but the mixing and scratching is top notch.

There's no bugs in the download, but it does sound a little flat so it needs putting through a good sound system or tuning up in a studio program.

It's about 70 minutes long with no track marks, so it fits nicely onto a CD and is ideal for pumping it out in the car.

Just hit save on the prompt and it's all yours for free.

Top quality flashback to the days when it was all going a bit mental for all the little acid people, enjoy :o

acid house party

Term referring to the parties and the gatherings of the late 80's which later evolved into raves. Acid house, a popular genre of house at the time, gave the parties their namesake. The music was much more moody and sinister than the now soft and pleasant music of the club and dying rave scene, and had a much more hard and machine-like edge. Acid house parties themselves took place in cramped buildings or warehouses, with low lighting and a trance-like feel.

"acid house parties are over, man" said the young twenty-something. "Raves are now in full swing." (added by me, what a cock!) :o
