Agree about telling the bank if letter for extensions are needed but if an agent is used, then not important to tell your bank, correct you think?

Not understanding why there is any issue in updating new pp details with bank.

The agent does not use their bank account they use your bank account.

As soon as you have a new pp you visit branch with new pp and update details.

Note if you use banking app you will need to update with sim provider

I would recommend taking old pp along.

While not urgent the stamps and visa info should be transferred at immigration office where the stamps were issued.

Note: if reentry permit was issued at airport the immigration office will not transfer that stamp.

No problem just travel with both passports.

My issue with banks is the potential number of hours (plural) that could be wasted waiting to be served - and I have a number of bank accounts.

I visit my Kasikorn street front branch at 8.30am and I'm the only customer there. No issue.

Lucky you. We recently wasted over 3 hours just to change my address. To keep our number in the queue Mrs N and I took turns to get lunch, bring back snacks, drinks etc …and to frequently move our car in and out of the 1 hr only carpark - no other parking was available. Hope this helps explain why I’m reluctant to visit Thai banks when you don’t have to.

What would happen if you didn’t tell your bank?

The law of unintended consequences will happen. You will find yourself in a rush some day to do something at the bank, and they'll end up taking 2-3 hours because they need to update your passport.

I usually take care of everything at the machines outside the bank. However, the next time I need to go inside, I’ll update my passport number then.
