Is Gemini-AI now crapping-out in Thailand? Maybe, elsewhere, too?

I guess you are now on "The List" of humans who have been impolite or disrespectful towards AI. The list of those who will be first against the wall for punishment, when the cyborgs take over.

You may have gone mad and I don't think AI can help with that. If you have insurance see a shrink and see if they can help. Or read a book. Of feed a soi dog and treat it for mange - heaven will rewar

Uses the free version of Gemini and then pisses and moans in a drawn out nonsensical tirade bordering on insanity that it is not up to task. That is like showing up to a potluck with an empty plate, c

But, then...what caused my madness.

Have you ever considered...THAT....????

My guess is the coconut bar on Beach Road and the same disease thing that got Al Capone in the end I could be wrong of course but the signs are there 🤣🤣🤣

It's the laid-back chilled Thai effect that we all come here for now affecting Gemini...😂.

FFS! Just pull back the curtains in the morning and look at that beautiful blue sky and sunshine and think how lucky I am to be here to enjoy another day in Paradise...🌞🌞🌞

If this is true, then I would be in very good company.

Every day, I do.

Nope,

Nor, never would I ever do such a thing.

I pay for it, just like most guys in Pattaya.

I could never understand why my mother used to tell me to stay away from Pattaya, when taking holidays in Thailand.

Thank you for answering the question I have worried about all these years.

No idea what this is about.

It is about degradation of Gemini when used on the desktop, or in Chrome search.

It is not that the models have changed, perhaps.

It is that Google is not supplying enough compute power, in this geographic area, when it comes to the inference phase.

What exactly are you working on that caused this frustration? Personally I enjoy the challenges and resovling them. Last night I spent 3 hours with gemini trying to fix an error in application (personal app ) I was creating. At the end I just, gaveup and found a verion of the app that worked 3 hours before Gemini wrecked it. I told Gemini this and it did know that this was the best option.

Doubt your issue has much to do with computing power and more to do with AI's complicated large language model that is still funky at times. It prefers clarity , how to say this politely - you can be disjointed, and brief prompts that can be perfected through itteration. Do you use markdown code in your prompts and divide them into sections?

Yes, although i find it great it is showing signs of dementia, forgets history, so yes last two weeks I'm having to remind it more than once of things we've established. Still it's better than it's younger thicker brother Deepseek

Sounds like you need to get a life and start interacting with real people.

If you mean that Gemini agreed with your alternate plan, this is a prime example of sycophancy.

I am saying that, during the past two or three weeks, the performance of Gemini has suddenly and markedly and VERY STRANGELY...

Deteriorated.

Why is this?

Someday soon, we may know.

Google is opaque.

However, we usually do find out what is going on, in the end.

You are being left behind by tech for sure

Hardly. I made all of my money while working as a software engineer, mostly in silicon valley. I know way too much about what's going on behind the curtain to get involved in most of the ”tech” you refer to.

So then: Given that there seems to be such a marked increase, a temporary increas lasting two or three weeks, in hallucination, what is causing this?

a. insufficient resources thrown at inference

b. overload of demand which is the same as "a"

c. communication problems between computers in data centers causing insufficiencies in compute

What?

Gemini seems like a different Gemini some days, usually has a good handle on previous conversations then next day forgets things, misses attachments, just different for some reason

What AI are you using?

I generally don't. I find them to be glorified search engines. Too many errors as they just regurgitate what they scrape from the internet and we all know there's lots of inaccuracies out there.

I tried Claude to do some simple coding tasks and it's result was way over complicated. Code needs to pass the KISS test. Keep It Simple Stupid.
