I think that I may have a little mini-rant now.

If I were to compare Bedlam to the other place, I can quite easily make a comparison to various watering holes that I have visited in the real world.

I like the place were you can have a good chat, maybe not agree about everything, you can have a difference of opinion with someone and then still share a taxi home with them.

I have frequented places were an argument would escalate to the point were it was on;y resolvable by breaking some pool cues.

I don't like those places.

And anyone who is limited to visiting those places because they have nowhere else to go, and then spend most of their time and energy complaining about being rejected from a previous haven are the most objectionable..... only superseded by the odd individual that has never been rejected from anywhere, as they haven't pushed the envelope, and just makes the occasional sly dig, they are the most objectionable people.

Bedlam is special because, there are so many people in here that I respect, people that I would never type what I wouldn't say to their face..... it isn't group hug thing, which is the main critique thrown around in other forums, it's a mutual respect thing.

Mutual respect rules as far as I am concerned.

I frequent few fora , on occasion Thailand-UK, now that is group hug central and your preferred forum SB, I find that a little cantankerous and full of mind numbingly ( profanity and malediction ) OK that is fine, all to their own, all have their uses. It is not my number one preference, but I enjoy my dabbles, however I do not consider Bedlam a Mutual admiration Society, simply because you can fire a salvo into someone, as long as it is constructively said and you can continue to post as usual.

I have taken exception to a thread recently and have been alone in my diatribe I hope and I think without any malice in the long term, certainly not on my part.

Touchy/Feely, well....., I don't know, but what I do know, if I want an answer to a particular sensitive situation, nowhere else to go, who would you ask?

I agree with moss, there are some differences of opinion but they are generally handled well and offered contructively. I suppose the cliche 'I can disagree without being disagreeable' works here! Because of this they never develop into flame wars and bash-all sessions so I suppose to the irregular visitor it might seem a bit tame.

Yip, and everything about you, I was born and raised a Christian, it didn't stick with me and I rejected it...... but I didn't and never will reject the people that choose to follow that path.

The one thing that I have never understood is how some people can have a disagreement and remain friends and others want to issue death threats over a spelling mistake....... the only conclusion I can draw from that is the the second type are going to cause a commotion anyway, as that is their intent, the first type are the ones that I'll stay friends with, and add more as they come along.
