I was always under the impression zeta jones is super proud to be Welsh, promoting Swansea whenever possible...? If i recall i read a while back that she does some positive things for her home country (cant remember what tho'). I would imagine she just makes her accent more subtle in order for people to understand her..but ive always heard it as a welsh accent. In movies I suppose she may take on an accent for the part. She seems pretty cool to me tbh

Actually I understand why peoples accents become subtle. In my case some people dont instantly place my accent as ive moved around alot since young so had to slow down my language speed and slang, and anglify my accent in order to be understood clearly by others. Although still definitely a Scottish accent its subtle. I dont see it as disowning my background, just a natural progression.

As for Zeta Jones, I used to think that she, Halle Berry, and Angelena Jolie were among the most beautiful women in the world, and then I learned that they had plastic surgery - all of them. I think as a society our eyes have been spoiled by so much plastic surgery and computer retouching that we can no longer recognize natural beauty. Just my satang.

You and I are on the same page here. So, many people I know have such high......no not high, conditioned standards of beauty that they never find what they think they want in a partner. It's insane to me when I come across very beautiful people you have trouble getting noticed because they don't look like the rags in the rack. Sad indeed!.

I find it fun when someone who isnt local or who is foreign picks up some colloquial words and phrases. Its can be very cute. For example, when my Uncle, who is Swiss, met my Scottish Aunt many years ago, he was still learning English. So he learned a lot of English from her. He has a distinctive Swiss-German accent, but comes out with words such as "No, you canny do that", instead of "No, you cannot do that". I smile so much when i hear him say things like that!!

A Dutch friend of mine in Dublin, lived there for nearly 30 years, speaks with a Dutch/Dublin accent and has all the Dublin sayings. It's a joy to hear him say 'Now, that's grand!'
