Pattaya, September 29 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : Early on Tuesday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chatchai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Pattaya City Hotel located in Soi 12 off the Central Pattaya Road to investigate reports of a foreign fatality. The Investigating Officer was directed to room number 304 to inspect the body of Mr. Amint Anand aged 25 from India. He was wearing only his underpants and despite the best efforts of medical staff to revive him, he was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. A second Indian occupant of the room, Mr. Kumar Parwan aged 41, had been taken to Hospital suffering from the effects of ingesting some form of drug which rendered him unconscious. According to Khun Sopit aged 50, the Hotel Receptionist, the two men were spotted at around 4am going back to their rooms with a transsexual who left 2 hours later. The transsexual was identified as Khun Pongsagorn and a copy of his ID card was given to Police. Evidence in the room suggests that sexual intercourse did take place and Police can only theorize that drugs were given to both men with the intention of stealing their possessions as soon as they were unconscious. Tests are now underway to confirm the exact cause of death for Mr. Amint while his roommate recovers in Hospital. An urgent search for the transsexual is now underway.

I get the impression it is mostly the gender benders who are involved in the druggings of punters locally. This is getting to be more like Brazil or worse everyday. I have no attraction for these types but many do, and they don't deserve this. This makes me angry. Yes, catch this murderer but what can be done to stop this from happening in future?

Another question. Is it possible many of these ts people are into theft and worse because of the high cost of performing their sex change procedures and further maintenance?

To be clear, no I am not saying round up all the ts people, of course not, but if it is true they are more dangerous, shouldn't there be more WARNINGS publicized about the dangers of going with them?

That's not good at all. Would imagine a massive dose of benozs must have been administered to make a 25 year old sleep forever... These crimes are terrible. Especially when they end this way.

My thoughts are with the guys family.

I agree. The youth of this murder victim is shocking. However, it probably shouldn't surprise as Pattaya attracts many younger tourists.

Well I don't get that impression...just as many girls and boys, as well as transsexuals, have been implicated in this type of thing.

As to the Brazil comparison, don't make me laugh, anybody who has been to Rio will tell you that crime in Pattaya/Thailand is minuscule compared to Rio/Brazil.

As to stopping it, when you stop horny men from taking boys and girls back to their room at 4 a.m. then maybe you will get somewhere. Until then, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Sad for the young boy but I've said many times, mongering in SE Asia is not for amateurs.

I am talking about the specific crime of DRUGGING punters. I am sorry but I disagree with you. Based on reading the crime "press" here for several years now these druggings are most often committed by ladyboys/ts people. Common thefts and opportunity thefts, yes, of course, that is much more widespread. No, I can't prove my assertion, its just from reading the so called press here.

Were you talking about DRUGGINGS or thefts in general? Are you seriously saying you haven't noticed a pattern about the people committing the DRUGGINGS?

Another point, aren't you kind of blaming the victim of this crime? Nobody is saying people who hire sex workers are saints but the reality is it is a major industry here, and there should be no justification for crimes of this nature against tourists.

^well some of the victims are a bit dim by their own accounts. Take tablet - give you power. :) Or not keeping an eye on their drinks at all times ect.

No doubt. This can't be good for tourism though when Pattaya gets more of a reputation as murder central. A lot of the tourists here are naive tourists, first time out of their country. In other words, being stupid is not a crime.

Agreed, but there is something about Thailand that makes you feel relaxed, certainly on your first visit. You just don't see the undercurrents. or at least I didn't. Best to drink from bottles when in these areas. Its' a lot more difficult to spike a bottle than a glass. The LB in the Big Trouble documentary was talking about that gender being responsible for a lot of drugging's. I guess he/she should be in the know?

Wasn't there an epidemic of this drugging in the 1996 time -- All I heard at the time was that there were underrage girls involved and a German run bar in Soi 2 but I never heard of anyone being convicted although the number of deaths was high.

This kind of drugging was in the news a few years ago. Girls were putting this stuff on their nipples and this was enough to knock out the intended victim. Only a small amount can be lethal - and has been. I also recall the story - seen on Pattaya News - of an elderly English guy who ended up in quite a serious conditon after going with a girl. I also recall the story of an English guy - young guy - who had to be medi vaced back to the Uk and hasn't fully recovered todate.

Point being it is easy for these scum to administer this stuff. Going with these ladyboys or street girls is a deadly serious game.

What a tragedy for this young guy and his family - may he rest in peace. And lets hope this freak who murdered him is caught and made an example of - probably not :)

In my earlier days as a businessman who travelled a lot and liked to try out the local bar/girls scene after a hard day's conferencing I was drugged twice - once in Tokyo and once in Berlin (late nineties early noughties). Both times I woke up 15 hours later minus dosh and credit cards. I was extremely lucky that both occasions did not impact on work commitments or worse.

It's a dangerous world out there, but try remembering that when you have the old beer goggles on. Best to get a mia noi I reckon, or better still accept you are getting too old - which I haven't quite managed yet.

Jingthing The number who died was believed to be nearly 200 and it was supposed to be a well organised gang -- If you are interested I can get the reports for you but they are on my computer in and old word format which the bloody useless Office 2007 will not read

I remember this, it got so bad <snip> announcement to tell the offenders to stop drugging the tourists. It was pretty serious as far as i can remember, dont recall numbers though. Around 96/97 would have been right enough.

Take care out there!

THis sort of thing has as others have stated being going on for a number or years off and on.

Lady boys are notorious for these sorts of crimes but I also personally know a number of people who have been drugged by women and woken up a day later with little memory of what happened.

This is why many guys prefer visiting P4P girls in their establishments which greatly minimises these sorts of things happening.

Taking unknown women back to your hotel or house to spend the night with you is quite risky especially if she is a freelancer.

If you take women from established venues it is highly unlikely you will be a victim of these sort of crimes because the woman is much more easily traced.

And God only knows the number of people who have been drugged and robbed and too embarassed to report it.

My very deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim. I hope the 2nd guy makes a full recovery.

UPDATE

Police have caught two ladyboys for this crime in Rayong.

On the Thai TV Channel 7 interview, (October 2nd 2009 1730 hours) the ladyboys admitted to drugging the Indian gentlemen for 'increased sexual pleasure'; (they did not mention the police display of mobile phones and cash), which they stole while the Indians were dead/drugged though!

They admitted that they used one sheet of Xanax (10 tablets; 1mg) to drug their victims.

One ladyboy also mentioned that one Indian had taken an erection drug before anal-coitus.

Let's hope that there is another update on this story.

WOW thats an overdose

You think you would notice 10 tablets in a drink even if it is all crushed up it must taste a bit dodgy.

I wonder if they will actually get charged with murder.

Just wondering why they would get stronger from steroids, you can take steroids and not exercise you wont get stronger at all.. also they wont take testosterone but some steroid that gives them breasts probably female stuff. So your observation is a bit off, but sure they have the strength of a man but you made it sound like they were superman. But ok if they go up against an older guy then they could overpower them.

I hope that they get punished severely, by drugging someone you take the risk that they die... so punish them hard.
