Electricity Usage On A/c - Unit - Label In Thai Attached

I'm not sure where is the best place to post this so I posted it in general, please feel free to move it somewhere more relevant if needed !

I'm trying to determine how much electricity the ouside unit on my large A/C unit uses.

I've attached a photo of the label from the back of the compressor which sits on the balcony.

Any ideas how many watts this unit uses so I can work out hos much KW/h it should add to my electric bill when the compressor part is actually working ?

At a guess I' say it's 3300 watts / 3.3 KW but any of the other numbers there could be what I'm looking for.

Not sure about the exact translations, however: :)

220V 1Phase 50 Hertz

Maximum Cooling - 10600 Watt 36200 BTU/Hour

Normal Current - 17.48 Amps

Normal power - 3770 Watt

Efficiency/conversion of electricty to cool air?? - 2.81 watt/watt 9.6 BTU/hour/Watt

The rest is serial numbers and physical weights etc.

Moved to home/DIY forum.

You will need to calculate how much time the compressor is running as it cycles on and off as required. Sit near it and listen for when the compressor is running and work out the percentage, then apply that percentage to 3770 watts by the time you have it running allowing a little extra for the fans which run all the time. The percentage will vary depending on the outside temp also.

a case of beer and a bucket of ice might assist.

it would depend on the temp setting on aircon and room temperature it is cooling from, wouldnt it?

but the easiest way to do it is, unplug everything else in yr house, read meter, run aircon for 1 hour, read meter, and see how many units consumed

hopefully yr ice cream wont melt

Thanks for the answers, I know it's been a long time since I came to this thread but I have another question.

I see from the above the normal power is 3770 Watts and the maximum cooling is 10600 Watts.

Does this mean that on average it will use 3770 watts but peak at 10,600 watts ?

So when the compressor is running at full output will it be using 10,600 watts, that would be over 10 KW/h per hour - seems a lot but it is a large A/C ?

Nope ^^^.

It will use a maximum of 3770 Watts, it will pump 10,600 Watts of heat out of your room (pumping about 3 times the input power is about right).

Still a pretty big aircon :)
