I also remember Gary as Wayne in Auf Wiedersehen Pet, if i remember rightly he died of an overdose ?

That's right, he died of an overdose in 1985. He was living on the edge and paid the price in the end.
Gary played small parts on TV while trying to survive as a musician.
Gary Holton was actually more famous in Norway than in the UK. Ruby was a top 5 hit in Scandinavia back in 81.
