Following on from Bannorks tribute to the fallen Cameron Highlanders here is a moving song from Mark Knofler .

The photo is my grandfather returning from France 1919 , he was delayed after spending time in hospital from shrapnel wounds to both ankles.

He survived to live a long and happy life, serving in the Home Guard in WW2.
He never forgot his fallen comrades and spoke of them often and with tears in his eyes until his death aged 93 .

this is considerable as the ensemble are not 'performing'...the video reveals that they are consumed by the music which is basically a chant...and when viewing you begin to chant as well...

 

I was never into Blur or Damon Albarn as I associated them with Oasis and 'brit pop' that had no merit at all except for some slick pop videos...

 

a very nice tune...and with the choir a very definite american inflexion...sorta like at the end they hadta unwind themselves from the groove...
