Siam Legal Visa Services

Featured Replies

My current one year Non-Immigrant "O" Visa will expire mid-August and I really don't wish to return to the U.K. and also the additional expenses.

I then discovered by chance an advertisement on this site for; http://www.siam-legal.com/UK-Citizens/thailand-one-year-visa-uk.php and it seems a practical solution.

Can anyone advise me if they have used Siam Legal's services for visa application and if they have encountered any problems? I ask this because as far as I was aware it is not possible to apply for a visa while in Thailand.

Thank you.

You cannot apply for a Visa while you are in Thailand.

The service offered is for those who are outside Thailand.

From what I have read on various forums & 2 personal encounters with Siam Legal I would stay clear, but there may be others that say different - even advert only advertises 90 days - please be careful jap.gif

Why can't you do a visa extension from within Thailand? I've been here for years and never had to leave the country to do a 12-month extension to my O-visa due to retirement.

In that case he would be highly unlikely to get a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa in UK also.

The thread is about a visa from link. If OP can qualify for a one year extension of stay that is what he should be checking into. For marriage (Thai Wife) that would require 40k baht per month income or 400k in bank account two months. That is done in person at local immigration office.

It is about a Visa, not an extension.

Visa outside Thailand

Extension local Immigration office then back every 90days for reporting.

I do it all myself never needed the help of these so called agents, if you qualify for it then do it yourself and save the money

I think you and the original poster are talking about two different things.

From what I understand he needs a new Non O visa becuse the one he currently has is about to expire.

He doesn't qualify for a retirement extension (as I understand it),

What you are talking about is an extension based on retirement to your current Non O visa.

They are two different things.

I think if the OP can state on what basis the O visa he has was issued we could all comment more accurately and effectively instead of assuming and guessing.

OP - More info please.

As far as I understood the "rules", it is illegal to apply for a 1 year visa whilst staying within Thailand. As per the Siam Legal website:

You need to be physically located in the same country in which you applying.

Can I apply for this same type of Thai visa inside Thailand?

No. You have to be in your home country when you apply for this specific type of Thai visa.

I have heard that some companies will "send" your passport out of the country to Hull or wherever with one of their couriers and get it stamped whilst you remain in Thailand, but this is of course also illegal. Your choice.

Thanks! I will try and make things a little more clear.

In the last 10 years I have obtained four "O" visa's. The reason given when applying for the last two was "visiting friends/family".

I am not retired and have never had a problem obtaining an "O" visa in the past. I have no other reason to go back to England and wanted to save the expense an inconvenience of a visit.

Visiting friends is no longer an option. Seems you do not meet the criteria for any other visa than a tourist visa.

You could go studying, that would make you eligable for a visa in a neigbouring country.

how old is OP - he says not retired but might qualify for Thai retirement extension jap.gif

True, if 50 years or older one can apply for a non-O.
